(SportsNetwork. Cheap Dallas Mavericks Jerseys .com) - The Dallas Stars are hoping their recent success against the Ottawa Senators can get them back on track when the clubs meet Tuesday in Big D. The Stars enter the opener of a three-game homestand locked in an 0-2-2 slide and the four-game skid comes directly on the heels of a 9-2-0 run from Dec. 6- Jan. 3. The club sits six points out of a playoff spot in the highly competitive Western Conference. However, Dallas has won five straight and seven of nine over the Senators. Ottawa has dropped three in a row and five of the past six meetings at American Airlines Center. Tonight marks the first time Stars forward Jason Spezza will face his former team. Spezza compiled 687 points (251 goals, 436 assists) over 11 seasons and 686 games with Ottawa, but he requested a trade from the Sens last spring and was eventually dealt to Dallas on July 1. Spezza was traded to the Stars along with forward prospect Ludwig Karlsson, while Ottawa received forwards Alex Chiasson, Alex Guptill, Nicolas Paul and a second-round pick in 2015. The 31-year-old Spezza is third on Dallas this season with 29 points off seven goals and 22 helpers. He signed a four-year extension with the Stars in November, keeping him under contract in Dallas through the 2018-19 season. It was nice to catch up. I saw some of the guys yesterday and will catch up with a few more guys today, Spezza said after Mondays practice. I think it is different when it is on your terms and in your rink. It will be different when I go back to Ottawa. Spezza and the Stars are scheduled to visit the Senators on Jan. 29. Dallas may ask for more than usual from Spezza as it may have to face Ottawa tonight without the help of captain Jamie Benn and fellow forwards Vernon Fiddler and Tyler Seguin, who are all questionable for Tuesday. Benn is dealing with an undisclosed injury, while Fiddler left Saturdays loss against Colorado with a lower-body issue. Seguin, meanwhile, was sent home from Mondays practice with an illness. Seguin is leading Dallas in goals (26) and points (48), while Benn is second in team scoring with 36 points on 12 goals and 24 assists. The Stars fell 4-3 in Denver on Saturday, as Matt Duchene picked up the deciding goal for the Avalanche early in the third period. Brett Ritchie, Colton Sceviour and Ales Hemsky scored for the Stars, while Kari Lehtonen stopped 26 shots in defeat. Lehtonen is expected to start tonight and owns an 8-5-0 record and 2.75 goals against average in 15 career games against the Senators. Ottawa enters tonight eight points out of a playoff spot in the East, but it was able to halt a three-game slide with Saturdays blowout win in Arizona. Craig Anderson made 31 saves, and the Sens scored five unanswered goals to top the Coyotes, 5-1. After Mikkel Boedker put the Coyotes on top early in the game, Milan Michalek and Clarke MacArthur scored first-period goals to give the Senators the lead for good. Ottawa also got goals from Mike Hoffman, Cody Ceci and David Legwand to improve to 1-1-1 on a four-game road trip that ends tonight. The Sens are just 9-11-4 as the guest this season. We finally got rewarded for our effort, Senators head coach Dave Cameron said. It feels good. Robin Lehner will get the start in net for Ottawa. He is 0-1-1 with a 2.88 GAA in his career against Dallas. After tonight, the Senators will close January by playing five of six on home ice. Ottawa will begin a brief two-game homestand Thursday against Montreal. Cheap Mavericks Jerseys . MINNEAPOLIS -- The New York Yankees have a bunch of proud, highly paid and accomplished hitters who have been performing much of this season as if they are well past their prime. Danny Duffy Jersey . Signs of a turnaround have emerged in this series at Minnesota. Brian Roberts had three doubles and a triple for the first four-extra-base-hit game of his 14-year career, and the Yankees used their bullpen to preserve a 6-5 win over the Twins on Friday. "Hitting is contagious. I think it goes both ways," said Roberts, who raised his batting average by 11 points to .248. "When a couple guys start struggling, sometimes everybody starts struggling. A couple guys start hitting, it can kind of roll. So hopefully well fall in that direction." David Huff (2-0), the first of four New York relievers, struck out three in three perfect innings after starter Chase Whitley faltered. David Robertson notched his 20th save in the ninth. "Its always big when the bullpen can pick up six innings and we still get a win out of it," Robertson said. The veterans in the lineup did the heavy lifting early on. Jacoby Ellsbury delivered a two-run single in the second to help finish off Twins starter Kyle Gibson (7-7), and the Yankees had 10 hits for the second straight game. "It was probably the most frustrating part, looking back," Gibson said of Ellsburys hit that pushed the lead to 6-1. Gibson brought the American Leagues best home-ballpark ERA among qualified pitchers at 1.54, but he only lasted two innings against the Yankees. One of the runs on his line was unearned, due to a passed ball by Kurt Suzuki that let Mark Teixeira move up and later score on Carlos Beltrans sacrifice fly in the first, but almost every ball was hit hard. "They jumped on him and never let him breathe," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said. Brett Gardner led off the game with a triple, Roberts drove him in with a double and Gibson was on his way to that kind of day. He gave up six hits and one walk, without any strikeouts. Teixeira had an RBI double, and Brendan Ryan added a sacrifice fly. "Weve said all along these guys are good hitters, and eventually its going to turn," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. The matchup on the mound between Whitley and Gibson quickly deteriorated, but a legitimate duel between Huff and Sam Deduno developed. Whitley gave up eight hits, four runs and one walk in three innings with four strikeouts, putting his spot in the injury-depleted rotation in a tenuous place. The rookie was unbeaten in his first seven starts, allowing three runs or fewer each time, but he has allowed a whopping 27 hits and 17 runs in 10 1-3 innings over his last three turns. "Its very frustrating, but youve got to keep working to give the team a chance to win," Whitley said. Brian Dozier led off the Minnesota first with his 16th homer, and Chris Colabello went deep the next inning in his first at-bat since May 23. Oswaldo Arcia had an RBI triple and scored on Trevor Plouffes single to pull the Twins within two before Huff took charge. "Whether he goes eight or he goes three, were always going to be ready for him. Were there to back him up and get him through the game," Huff said. Dellin Betances dodged trouble in the eighth inning after Colabello cut the lead to one with an RBI groundout. Teixeira made a diving stop to his right at first base on Eduardo Escobars sharp grounder, recovering in time to throw to Betances for the third out with a runner on third. This Independence Day game, pitting the Yankees and Twins at Target Field for the second straight year, was preceded by a ceremony for the 75th anniversary of Lou Gehrigs moving farewell address, shortly after he was diagnosed with the degenerative neurological disease that later took his name. Players from both teams read prerecorded portions of the speech. NOTES: The Yankees are 15-3 at Target Field, including two post-season wins. ... University of Minnesota basketball coach and lifelong Yankees fan Richard Pitino sat in the first row behind home plate. ... David Phelps (3-4, 4.26 ERA) will pitch for the Yankees Saturday, and Yohan Pino (0-2, 6.32 ERA) will take the mound for the Twins. The Twins will honour retiring Yankees captain Derek Jeter before the game with a farewell gift. Jeter had Friday off to rest. Brendan Ryan played SS instead. Cheap MLB Jerseys Authentic .m. A day the bookmakers told us would be rudimentary, seeing France and Germany breeze by Nigeria and Algeria respectively. We should have known better. France were average for 70 minutes and good for 20, scoring late to prevent Nigeria from moving on. Germany, on the other hand, were pathetic for 70 minutes, average for 20 and marginally better in the extra time they needed to see off Algeria. Germany 2-1 Algeria (AET) Germany are in Brazil to win the World Cup. They may be only three wins away but based on this display those victories are going to be very difficult to find. World Cup winners are allowed slow starts and mixed performances along the way, but Joachim Lows side have a lot of work to do between now and July 13. In the end they, just, deserved the win in Porto Alegre but Algeria played a huge part in an enthralling match. They also did a great job at targeting Germanys high defensive line. The problem for Germany was not the position of the line, but the amount of things they did wrong while playing with it. It was clear they didnt want playmakers dropping in between the lines and with Algeria playing deep, Germanys high line made sense. Except, the players didnt orchestrate the game-plan properly. The full-backs are supposed to drop deep to cover any attackers in behind but their positioning was poor. In front, the midfield of Germany did little to press Algeria into a mistake and far too often balls were easily played over the top, forcing Per Mertesacker and Jerome Boateng to regularly turn and face their own goal, an area many centre-backs are not comfortable with. Thankfully, they had Manuel Neuer in behind and he made an incredible amount of clearances outside of his box. Stats powered by Opta Germanys problems continued in possession. They head into the quarter-finals with too many of their key players either not fit or not playing well. This is a team that became obsessed with Spain after losing to them twice at Euro 2008 and at the last World Cup but at the moment they have a balance issue with their front six. Bastian Schweinsteiger, so crucial to their hopes, limped off in extra time and will desperately be needed in the quarter-final. Philipp Lahm is a fine midfielder but his value is much higher as a full-back. Forced into that change when Shkodran Mustafi was stretchered off, Lahm at full-back gives Germany an outlet his teammates trust in a wide area. It also unleashes Sami Khedira into midfield, a player, himself, who is not fully fit but who brings something completely different to the midfield with his penetration. Think Sergio Busquets and Xabi Alonso from 2010 - that is what Khedira and Schweinsteiger can be. A pair with great strength who can dictate the tempo and direction of a match. Germanys Xavi, Toni Kroos, is a fine player who can dictate the pace and tempo but demands calculated and intelligent movement in front of him. He is not a true playmaker who will beat two or three men and score an individual goal. This puts tremendous pressure on the front three. Again, thinking of Spain, these three are essential for success. Mario Gotze and Mesut Ozil are not natural wide players. They like to operate centrally in spaces between the lines but that makes Germany easy to defend against. Germany needed width, much like Spain did in 2010, and on came their Pedro, Andre Schurrle for Gotze. Ozil, however, was no Andres Iniesta. He is a defensive liability when an opponent is not in possession of the ball and when in possession he is not at his best on the left flank. Ozil likes to make quick movements, quick passes to feet, and out wide that requires full-backs to get forward, something this German team does very little of. Thomas Muller, one of the bright spots for Germany against Algeria, is a vital player for Lows system. However, the jurry is still out on what his best position is. Jorge Soler Jersey. . Germany started with a false nine in this tournament, then went to Muller as the target man, but it was clear how valuable he is on the Schurrle goal, as his direct running into space and creativity set up the Chelsea man for a moment of brilliance on the goal. Their next opponents, France, may just be exactly what they need. France are a talented team but they have not been tested enough when forced to defend a lot, they tend to play slowly in possession and Germany should control possession and could do what Spain did to France two years ago at Euro 2012. That is easier said than done, however, and Germany will need to be far better to stay in Brazil. What they do have, though, is a cast of characters who are genuine world class stars. If any team can turn this around quickly it is this one. France 2-0 Nigeria There is a very thin line between success and failure at World Cups. The line is different for every team. Frances victory over Nigeria saw them jump over that line. Whatever happens from now on, this World Cup has become a success for a French team some thought wouldnt qualify after their loss in Ukraine last October. Against Nigeria they were far from perfect but their maturity came through. Under Didier Deschamps there is no room for complacency and France were a united front. For the second successive day, a European team grew stronger as the game wore on and a key tactical switch made the difference. Deschamps chose to play Karim Benzema with Olivier Giroud but Nigeria exploited this, creating overlaps out wide on the left where the Real Madrid man operated. This forced Blaise Matuidi to cover and help Patrice Evra, opening up spaces in midfield. During the second half Antoine Griezmann was introduced for Giroud and the balance of the side was much better. Benzema was not at his best but, importantly, France were able to pull through in a game where he didnt carry them. The goal came from a set-piece and the Nigerian goalie, Vincent Enyeama, who had been excellent, made one error in judgment and allowed Paul Pogba to nod home the winning goal into an empty net. Laurent Koscienly, a menace to defend at set plays throughout, played a huge part by attracting two defenders that the goalkeeper didnt trust to deal with the Arsenal man. It was a fitting goal for Pogba, who was the best player on the pitch. In all, many French players who have excelled at the highest level, the Champions League, performed very well like Mathieu Valbuena, Laurent Koscielny, Raphael Varane and Pogba. Nigeria go home with their heads held high with many of their players having had an excellent World Cup. Man of the Day Nominees Ahmed Musa – The Nigerian attacker has had a fantastic World Cup and his speed on the counter caused France a number of problems. Paul Pogba – The Juventus man had easily his best performance at the World Cup so far and scored the crucial goal. Andre Schurrle – Once again another substitute at this World Cup made a big impact on the game. Manuel Neuer – The German goalkeeper was sensational, often playing as an 11th outfield player, sweeping up behind his defence. Essaid Belkalem – The Algerian defence was brilliant, led by the 25-year-old Watford defender. The winner... Manuel Neuer – Arguably one of the best goalkeepers in the world today had a monumental match when his country needed him the most. What comes next? Argentina vs Switzerland (12pm et/9am pt) and Belgium vs USA (4pm/1pm) Burning question for Tuesday Will Belgium start a game better than they have done so far in this World Cup or will they once again start slowly and allow the USA confidence to build? Key stat of Day 19 With 10 games remaining, we have now had 150 goals at this World Cup. That is more than we had in 2006 and 2010. ' ' '

Woakes followed up first-innings figures of 6-70 with 5-31 to become the first England bowler to take five or more wickets in each innings of a Test at Lords since Ian Botham in 1978 but could not prevent Pakistan building a sizeable advantage of 281.Asad Shafiq (49) and Sarfraz Ahmed (45) dragged the tourists, at one stage wobbling on 60-4 in their second innings, to 214-8 at stumps - Yasir Shah contributing a career-best 30no to put Pakistan in the box-seat.England already have their work cut out to win the Test - their highest successful chase at Lords remains the 282-3 made against New Zealand in 2004, with the record by any team the mighty 344-1 scored by the West Indies in 1984.Pakistan made light work of mopping up Englands tail in the morning session, leg-spinner Yasir trapping Steven Finn lbw to improve his figures to 6-72. England got the early breakthrough they needed when Mohammad Hafeez edged Broad to second slip in the third over of the innings but at lunch Pakistans position was promising, Shan Masood and Azhar Ali improving tthe overall lead to 107. The fightback was led by Woakes, who found Masoods edge with the fifth ball of the new session before hitting Azhar in front of leg - the first of two wickets to fall for one run.The second was that of Misbah-ul-Haq who, having dominated Moeen Ali during a magnificent first-innings century, succumbed trying to take the spinner to task again. The skipper could scarcely believe what he had done after slog-sweeping Moeen to deep mid-wicket where Alex Hales took a fine running catch on the boundary to make it 60-4. Hales celebrates taking the catch to remove Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq His swift change of fortune made Misbah only the second player to follow up a ton at Lords with a duck although he is the 12th skipper to suffer that fate at any ground.Englands aspirations of further in-roads were thwarted, though, by obstinate stands of 69 and 39 between Shafiq (49) and Younus Khan (25) and Sarfraz respectively.Younus bunkered down until he was bowled off the inside edge attempting to cut Moeen and it took a Woakes beauty to bowl Shafiq, the seamer trimming the bails having gone wider on the crease to sneak one through the batsmans defences. Woakes celebrates removing Sarfraz Ahmed At 168-6 Englands hopes of restricting Pakistans lead to beneath 250 were high but Sarfraz found a stoic ally in Yasir, promoted up the order from 11.The pair dug deep to stretch the tourists advantage, enjoying a life each off the increasingly-frustrated Finn - Jonny Bairstow shelling a simple chance when Sarfraz edged behind on 36 after Broad couldnt quite grasp a leading edge offered by Yasir. But Woakes late double strike, removing Sarfraz and Wahab Riaz to catches behind the wicket, pulled Pakistan back to put the game in the balance.Watch highlights of todays play and The Verdict on the red button on Sky Sports 2 tonight at 8pm and 9pm respectively. NEW YORK -- The New York Islanders rode the train from Long Island to Brooklyn -- a trek they hope many of their fans will take once the club moves there in two years. Jrue Holiday Jersey . Training camp opened for the Islanders on Thursday at Barclays Center, which will become the teams new home for the 2015-16 NHL season. The Nassau Coliseum will be a distant memory for the Islanders as they leave the aging building for the first time since they entered the league in 1972. "One word for it: beautiful," team owner Charles Wang said. "When you look at what is going on here, its unbelievable. I am very happy as you can see from the smile." He stopped short of comparing this day to other big ones in his life. "Im ecstatic today. Is it happier than the day I got married?" Wang asked, before an answer was drowned out by laughter. "You enjoy that moment. I have a big smile on my face." One by one, the players left the Long Island Railroad train that carried them from Garden City, N.Y., to Brooklyn on Thursday morning. They were decked out in their jerseys and received a warm welcome as they approached the sparkling new arena. Reporters, television crews and photographers were there to greet them on a near 90-degree day that was more suitable for baseball than hockey. "It was good to get camp open," newly named captain John Tavares said. "Its been a little different with the train ride and getting here and getting on the ice real quick." The ice wasnt quite up to pro standards yet, but Tavares said that will improve in time. "It would be really tough to play a game on something like that," he said. "I would say it still needs a few more layers and it needs time to really get set." Wang beamed as he spoke of his excitement regarding the clubs move to Brooklyn. He tried long and hard to get a new arena built on Long Island as part of his expansive Lighthouse Project, but that never came to fruition. While the scheduled arrival date is 2015, it isnt completely out of the question that the Islanders could move up their transfer if adjustments can be made to their lease and if necessary work at the arena can be completed earlier. "Our plan is to live to the commitment of the lease," Wang said. "Weve always wanted to get here as soon as possible, but we are living to our lease. Well honour that lease." Wang said he was particularly impressed to see his team skate on the ice and the bright blue and orange club logo adorning centre ice. The Islanders will get only a brief look at their new digs. Thursday was the only scheduled practice day in Brooklyn, and the Islanders will host the New Jersey Devils in a preseason game Sept. 21. Much work will be needed to be done before the Islanders are a permanent tenant. While the NBAs Brooklyn Nets have already resettled at Barclays, a dressing room will have to be built for their hockey brethren. "It definitely feels really new," Tavares said. "Were going to have to take some time. It will be an adjustment once we do get here to make it feel comfortable." Officials said about 10,000 tickets have been sold for the preseason game. The building will hold 15,813 for hockey -- slightly fewer than the Nassau Coliseum. There are also 400 additional seats, not included in the total, that have obstructed views. But Barclays is a state-of-the-art facility with top amenities and sightlines that provide a unique feel. "It will still almost feel like a neutral site because the Coliseum is still for all our home games for a couple of more years," Tavares said. "That is where everything is kind of situated right now. We dont have a locker room here or anything set up, but it will nice to play, for sure. "We are really looking forward to the game." New Yorks four Stanley Cup championship banners are already hanging in the arena, and will remain there through the preseason game. How soon the Islanders, who advanced to the Eastern Conference playoffs last season but lost to Pittsburgh in the first round, might be able to add titles to the four straight they won from 1980-83 remains to be seen. "The certainty of knowing where were going to be is a positive going forward," general manager Garth Snow said. "Its going to be spectacular." Cheap New Orleans Pelicans Jerseys . LONDON, Ont. Kelly Hrudey Jersey . -- So Yeon Ryu pulled away from the pack at the Canadian Pacific Womens Open with a second straight bogey-free round. Ryu shot a 6-under 66 Friday at London Hunt and Country Club to get to 15 under, the best two-round start in the tournaments history and five strokes ahead of fellow South Korean Na Yeon Choi, playing partner Anna Nordqvist and Danielle Kang. "A lot of birdies is still a good sign, but no bogeys is more (of) a great sign because it means I play really consistent and when I was in trouble I handled it pretty well," she said. "Thats my goal. I aim for the bogey-free round all four days." If Ryu keeps it up over the weekend, shell have a good chance at winning her first tournament since the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic in 2012. With eight top-10 finishes this year, including a tie for fifth at the U.S. Womens Open, she hasnt been far off. Even amid her victory drought, Ryu tries not to complain or worry. "Im happy to be just travelling all around the world," she said. "Im really happy to show my golf swing and my golf game to all golf fans. The thing is to not really think about the result thing. Im playing golf and Im happy." Ryu "absolutely" is happier when playing the kind of golf she has over the past couple of days. She returned to the same local restaurant, Izakaya Shogun Japanese Sushi & Grill, Thursday night that she had dinner at with South Korean teammates the previous day -- for takeout this time -- and said shed have to think about it again before her third round. Whatever Ryu is eating, the rest of the field will have what shes having. "So Yeon is probably making everything she looks at," said Cristie Kerr, the champion the last time this tournament was in London back in 2006, who shot a 4-under 68 Friday to get to 9 under. American Brittany Lincicome, who was a runner-up to Inbee Park at last weeks LPGA Championship, had the best round of the day with a 65 to move to 8 under. Lincicome said her confidence level was "really high." "I felt really confident when I stepped on the first hole," she said. "It was a very smooth day and it was nice to get some putts to fall." Joining Lincicome at 8 under were Lizette Salas, Lindsey Wright, Mi Hyang Lee and Xi Yu Lin. Four Canadians were among the 87 players who made the cut: Jennifer Kirby of Paris, Ont., at 5 under and amateurs Brooke Henderson of Smiths Falls, Ont., and Jennifer Ha of Calgary at 3 under and Sue Kim of Langley, B.C., at 1 under. The other 11 in the field finished at even or over par to miss. Henderson had missed the cut in this tournament in her two previous appearances but is now 4 for 4 making the cut in LPGA Tour events this year. But she wasnt satisfied despite shooting a 71. "Honestly, today, I couldve easily been five-under," Henderson said. "I had so many opportunities for birdie inside 10 feet and just didnt capitalize on them." Nordqvist felt the same way playing with Ryu but struggling with her putter. "I was trying to keep up with her on the greens," the Swede said. "I played really well today, too, and I couldnt seem to make any putts. ... Its a bit frustrating, but she played really well and I try to feed off her." One of the last players to tee off Friday, Kang saw Ryus 15 under and didnt let it bother her. Instead, she watched the leaderboard with delight thinking about what she can do on this course. "That tells me that there are birdies out there," said Kang, who borrowed defending champion and friend Lydia Kos ball marker after forgetting her own. "You just got to go by the scoreboard, the scoreboard tells you everything you need to know." Like a lot of players, Choi wasnt focused on others performances before she teed off. The 2012 U.S. Womens Open champion also took a different approach Thursday night after shooting a 64, going shopping and to the movie theatre to see "Into the Storm." "I just tried to relax," Choi said. "Always when I think about too much golf, even off the golf course, it sometimes gives me a lot of stress." Choi stressed about her driver after shooting a 70 Friday to tie Nordqvist for second. Its her hope that fixing a left hook in her swing can help her stay in the hunt. Kang, a 21-year-old from San Francisco, is in contention and feeling confident going into the weekend. "Theres a lot of people contending, and theres a lot of birdies out there and everyones shooting low, so youve just got to keep making birdies," she said. Notes -- American Jessica Korda had a hole-in-one on the eight, drilling an 8 iron from 147 yards from the tee. She shot a 70 to get to 4 under through two rounds. ... Organizers waived the $10 parking fee for the weekend to encourage more fans to come out to the course. Anze Kopitar Jersey . TORONTO -- Toronto FC rewarded goalkeeper Joe Bendik with a new deal Tuesday while dealing former starter Stefan Frei to the Seattle Sounders. Cheap Dennis Rodman Jersey . Frei, Torontos longest-serving player, lost his job to injury in 2012 and the fine play of Bendik this season. His US$200,000 contract expired at the end of the season but Toronto retained his rights though Thursdays first stage of the MLS re-entry process. Frei signed a new contract with Seattle shortly after the trade. "Joe had an opportunity to step in and prove himself this season and he did so in a big way," Toronto GM Tim Bezbatchenko said in a statement. Hes still a relatively young keeper who showed he has the ability and mentality to handle a full season of MLS play. "We are excited to watch him continue to develop his skills and be a leader on our re-shaped roster next season. We are confident that we have addressed our goalkeeper situation for the upcoming season, while adding increased roster and cap flexibility in the process." Toronto, meanwhile, may be close to landing a new designated player. Brazilian Gilberto was said to be at the Toronto Raptors game Tuesday night. Bendik, 24, started 33 games for Toronto in 2013, finishing with a 6-16-11 record and four shutouts. His salary was listed at US$46,500. Prior to being acquired by Toronto FC, he made five appearances and started in three games for Portland during the 2012 season. Frei, 27, is Torontos all-time leader in appearances across all competitions (99). He has a 1.54 goals-against average in 82 regular-season starts. "Stefan is a goalkeeper we have liked for a number of years," Seattle head coach Sigi Schmid said in a statement Tuesday. "He is a quality professional who brings experience and leadership to the position. Adding Stefan at this point of his career was very attractive to us." Toronto receives a conditional 2015 first-round MLS SuperDraft pick from Seattle. The Sounders currently have 41-year-old Marcus Hahnemann and 26-year-old Josh Ford as goalies on their roster. "Parting with a player of Stefans calibre and character is always difficult, but as we move forward with our re-shaping of the club, it is important that we have increased flexibility to make additional moves. This trade provides us with that flexibility," said Bezbatchenko. "Stefan is a great player and an even better person who will always hold a special place in the clubs history. We wish him all the best as he moves on to the next stage of his career." Toronto also has goalkeepers Chris Konopka and Quillan Roberts on its roster. On Monday, Toronto acquired Brazilian midfielder Jackson from FC Dallas in exchange for a conditional second-round pick in the 2015 draft and allocation money. Cheap NBA Jerseys . Lewis Hamilton followed up his victory last week in Malaysia by having the fastest time in both sessions, the second of which was held under lights for the first time at the Bahrain International Circuit, which has switched to being a night race. Hamiltons time of 1 minute, 34.690 seconds was one third of a second faster than teammate and championship leader Nico Rosberg, and more than a second faster than third-place Fernando Alonso of Ferrari. "The car feels better than when we were testing here -- balance-wise, it was extremely good," Hamilton said. "There are still some tweaks we need to make it feel perfect, but Im feeling good." Defending four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel was a distant seventh on the timesheets, behind his fourth-place Red Bull teammate Daniel Ricciardo -- who carries a 10-grid-place penalty into Sundays race. The pair was split by Felipe Massa of Williams and McLarens Jenson Button. It is not a surprise, they were very quick in the testing here. They have proved that again," Vettel said. "It will be a long way for us to catch up." Even more dispiriting for Mercedes rivals was that the dominance reflected by their lap times on lighter fuel and soft tires was even more pronounced when using higher fuel loads to practice for race conditions. Williams had a distinctly different approach to the days practice, doing relatively few laps to extend engine life, reckoning that it had all the data it needed about the Bahrain track after extensive preseason testing there. Toro Rosso rookie Daniil Kvyat was eighth fastest, ahead of McLarens Kevin Magnussen and Force Indias Sergio Perez. The night session, which began in falling desert temperatures at 6 p.m. local time -- the same as Sundays race -- saw many drivers struggling to get sufficient heat in the tires, misjudging braking distances and running off track. Max Chiltons Marussia went into a violent spin after a front brake failure, while Saubers Adrian Sutil and Caterhams Marcus Ericsson both had sudden power losses. ' ' '

The Columbus Blue Jackets begin just the second playoff run in franchise history, as they visit the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday for Game 1. Air Jordan Shoes Online Australia . After getting swept in its lone playoff series, Columbus hopes to skate away with at least one victory in this opening round set despite being heavy underdogs against the Metropolitan Division champion Penguins. The Blue Jackets, who entered the NHL as an expansion team for the 2000-01 campaign, didnt qualify for the postseason until 2009 when they lost all four games against Detroit in the first round. This time they enter the playoffs as the first wild card in the East and face a Pittsburgh team with the second- best record in the conference. Pittsburgh swept the Blue Jackets in 2013-14, winning all five encounters in regulation. The Pens have claimed six straight and 10 of 12 in the series overall. The Blue Jackets and Pens were division rivals for the first time in 2013-14, as Columbus moved from the Western Conference to the East as part of the NHLs realignment plan for this season. Pens star Sidney Crosby racked up seven points (2g, 5a) in five meetings with the Blue Jackets this season. Pittsburghs Chris Kunitz had six points on four goals and two assists, while James Neal added three goals and two helpers. Pens goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, meanwhile, went 3-0 with a 1.33 GAA in the season series. Columbus defenseman Jack Johnson was the best point-producer in the season series for Columbus, posting three assists over the five losses. One bright spot for the Blue Jackets was that No. 1 goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky only faced Pittsburgh once in 2013-14, missing the other four encounters due to injury or illness. On the other hand, Pittsburgh completely dominated the Jackets in special teams during the season series, going 5-for-19 on the power play while killing 13-of-14 penalties. Pittsburgh cruised to a division title this season, taking the Metropolitan with 109 points -- 13 more than the second-place New York Rangers and a healthy Crosby was a big reason why. Crosby led the NHL in scoring with 104 points this season and is the leading candidate for the 2013-14 Hart Trophy. Crosbys fellow star centerman Evgeni Malkin sat out the final 11 games of the regular season with a sprained foot, but he practiced on the first power play unit this morning. A bigger question for Pittsburgh heading into the postseason is whether Fleury will struggle again in net. Fleury anchored Pittsburghs Cup win in 2009, but he has looked awful in the postseason since then and was even demoted to backup last spring. Fleury was replaced by Tomas Vokoun as the clubs No. 1 goaltender after Game 4 of the opening round against the New York Islanders and did not start another game in the playoffs as Pittsburgh was eventually eliminated by Boston in a conference final sweep. However, Pittsburgh is putting its faith in Fleury once again after he went 39-18-5 with a 2.37 goals against average and .915 save percentage during the 2013-14 regular season. In 80 games during his postseason career, Fleury is 45-34 with a 2.73 GAA and .903 save percentage. "(I) remind myself I have one more Stanley Cup than a lot of people, so I know I can do it," Fleury said. "I think we have a solid team and Ill try my best to get to it again." The key to the series for Columbus resides in the crease where Bobrovsky could give the Blue Jackets a considerable edge should Fleury get another case of the postseason yips. Bobrovsky won the Vezina last season and proved that campaign was no fluke in 2013-14, going 32-20-5 with a 2.38 GAA and .923 save percentage. Bobrovsky has playoff experience from his time in Philadelphia, starting three postseason games while making relief appearances on four other occasions. He was 0-2 with a 4.04 GAA and .848 save percentage in those outings. Pittsburgh, which also will host Game 2 on Saturday, was 28-9-4 at CONSOL Energy Center this season. Columbus was 21-17-3 as the visiting team. What did were the familiar competitive emotions the 47-year-old once enjoyed during his NHL playing days.Once a goalie, always a goalie, Irbe said with a wide grin.Seven years after Irbe thought he hung up his pads for good, the Buffalo Sabres goalie coach came out of retirement for a few hours on Wednesday night. Irbe signed whats called a tryout contract to serve as Buffalos backup after starter Michal Neuvirth was hurt during the first period of a 4-1 win over San Jose.I said, Ted, I havent donned a uniform in seven years, Irbe said, recalling the conversation he had with Sabres coach Ted Nolan during the first intermission. And he said, It doesnt matter. Now you will. With backup goalie Jhonas Enroth taking over, Irbe scrambled to find equipment that fit his 5-foot-8 frame.Irbe pulled on a pair of Enroths pads because the two, coincidently, are about the same size. The glove and blocker he wore were ones left behind by former Sabres starter Ryan Miller last season. As for the mask, Irbe doesnt know where the equipment staff found it.By the start of the third period, Irbe was standing in the hallway leading to the Sabres bench, psyching up for tthe slight possibility that he might play. He eventually split 13 seasons between four teams, including the last six with the Carolina, where he helped the Hurricanes win the Eastern Conference championship in 2002.He then spent three years playing in Europe before turning his attention to coaching.Irbe was hired by the Sabres last summer, and reunited with Nolan, who also doubles as Latvias national team coach. The Sabres have another Latvian connection in second-year forward Zemgus Girgensons.Oh, that wouldve been awesome, something that I would have never thought about, Girgensons said of the possibility of playing in front of Irbe. Its just funny that he got the (tryout contract).Irbe never imagined hed get this chance, either.Be careful what you wish for, Irbe said, smiling. VIRGINIA WATER, England -- Only a few days after sending out wedding invitations, golfer Rory McIlroy broke off his engagement to Danish tennis player Caroline Wozniacki on Wednesday. Jerseys NFL Cheap . Uncomfortable and subdued, the two-time major winner spoke about the decision ahead of the BMW PGA Championship, only a few hours after first announcing the split in a statement. "It is quite a difficult time for Caroline and myself, and the statement really said it all this morning," McIlroy said at Wentworth. "It was mutual and we both thought it was the best for us, the best for both of us. Time to move on, and Ive said all that I need to say." The 25-year-old McIlroy and 23-year-old Wozniacki have been dating since 2011. They were engaged on New Years Eve in Australia. The decision to call off the wedding came as surprise to many, especially since McIlroy had only recently spoke of his delight in meeting up with Wozniacki in London after competing in the Players Championship a couple of weeks ago. Wozniacki had been due to compete in an event in Rome but withdrew to meet up with him. "Look, Im no different than anyone else," the Northern Irishman said. "Everyone has been through breakups, and its obviously very, very difficult. But look, Im here to try and concentrate on this week and answer questions about golf, and thats what Im going to do." Both McIlroy and Wozniacki have been the top-ranked player in their respective sports, but Wozniacki has not won a major title. McIlroy won his first major at the 2011 U.S. Open, and then added another a year later at the U.S. PGA Championship. In the earlier statement, McIlroy took the blame for the breakup. "The problem is mine. The wedding invitations issued at the weekend made me realize that I wasnt ready for all that marriage entails," McIlroy said. "I wish Caroline all the happiness she deserves and thank her for the great times weve had. I will not be saying anything more about our relationship in any setting." At Wentworth, McIlroy is among the top players at this weeks European Tour flagship event. "Im not going to lie. Its going to be very difficult," McIlroy said of playing this week. "But you know, at least when I get inside the ropes, just try and concentrate on the shot at hand. But yeah, its obviously going to be difficult." At least McIlroy will have something to cheer him up. The Manchester United fan will play in the pro-am alongside three former stars from the club, Teddy Sheringham, Peter Schmeichel and Phil Neville. "Ive been a Manchester United fan my whole life, and getting to play with three Manchester United legends is going to be a nice afternoon," McIlroy said. "I remember watching the Champions League final in 99 when United beat (Bayern) Munich in Barcelona, and it was a very memorable night. All those three guys were involved." Cheap NFL Shirts . The Athletics have mutual strong feelings about their do-everything centre fielder and speedy leadoff man, who is staying with the As for an additional two seasons after agreeing Friday to a new contract through 2016 that adds $22.75 million in guaranteed money. "Its nice. I dont think it was weighing on me too much," Crisp said Friday, a day before Oakland holds its FanFest. "Either way, if it happened after the season or before, this is the place I want to be." The deal includes a 2017 option that could become guaranteed, the As said. Crisp was set to attend FanFest on Saturday with the two-time reigning AL West champions, a week ahead of the start of spring training in Phoenix. Crisp has a $7.5 million salary this year under a club option exercised Nov. 1. He will earn $11 million per season in 2015 and 2016, and the 2017 option is for $13 million with a $750,000 buyout. A switch-hitter who gets things going at the top of the lineup with his aggressive baserunning and, more recently, pop in his bat -- Crisp hit a career-high 22 home runs last year. "Im just grateful they put me up there and give me the opportunity to do that. If I hit 22, thatd be awesome. If I hit 23, thatd be better," Crisp said, grinning. "If the best part of the wood gets ahold of the balls, that would be amazing." The 34-year-old Crisp, starting his fifth season with the As, hasnt played more than 136 games in a season since arriving in the Bay Area. He batted .261 with the 22 homers, 66 RBIs and 21 steals last year. Despite the power surge, Crisp has refused to call himself a home run hitter. Yet he does hope to duplicate that producttion in 2014. Discount NFL Jerseys. "Thats a lot of home runs. Its really impressive for a leadoff hitter," new infielder Nick Punto said. "He might not call himself a home run hitter but he has some pop in the bat." Crisps 2017 option would vest with 550 plate appearances in 2016 or 1,000 plate appearances in 2015-16 combined or 130 games in 2016, or 260 games in 2015-16 combined. In addition, the 260 combined games is with no fewer than 110 played in 2016 and he cant finish 2016 season on the disabled list. New Oakland closer Jim Johnson is happy to no longer have to face Crisp. "Hes a pain," Johnson said. "He fights off good pitches. Hes a guy you think you have a plan and your plan goes to crap." Crisps current contract allows him the use of a ballpark suite for six games per year -- excluding the Yankees, Red Sox and Giants -- and the number increases to eight for 2015-17. Former Tigers manager Jim Leyland said several times that containing Crisp was the biggest key for Detroit to beat the As in the division series for the second straight season. Crisp is a career .278 hitter in 30 post-season games for Boston and Oakland. Left fielder Yoenis Cespedes, who said Friday he hopes for an extension to stay with the As beyond his initial $36 million, four-year deal from February 2012, realizes how much it means to be playing alongside Crisp for the near future. "I dont know if Im going to be the next to get an extension, but he is the key for this team," Cespedes said. "I want to play in Oakland beyond my four years. I thank them for giving me the opportunity to play in the big leagues. I dont forget that." (SportsNetwork. Wholesale Saucony Shoes .com) - The Toronto Blue Jays will look to snap a three-game skid Friday night when they continue their road trip in the opener of a three-game set against the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park. Toronto has lost seven of its last nine and was just swept in three games by the New York Yankees. Thursdays 6-4 setback saw the Blue Jays get swept in a series of at least three games for the first time since Sept. 10-12. The Jays lost Thursdays finale despite two-run homers by Melky Cabrera and Edwin Encarnacion as Drew Hutchison yielded four runs over 4 1/3 innings. "We didnt play good baseball," Hutchison said. "Thats what it is. Its over now. We just have to move on and continue forward." The Blue Jays will shuffle their rotation, adding an extra arm in the form of right-hander Liam Hendriks. Hendriks will make one start to give the rest of the rotation some extra time off, including R.A. Dickey. The knuckleballer will instead start on Sunday instead of tonight after exiting his last start early with a groin injury. Hendriks made two starts earlier this season for Toronto, going 1-0 with a 2.31 ERA. He is 6-0 with a 1.92 ERA in 12 games (10 starts) at Triple-A Buffalo. "We think its important to protect that rotation a little bit," manager John Gibbons told Torontos official website. "(Hendriks) will come along, he pitched well for us in a couple of outings earlier in the year. Hopefully, he gives us a boost too. Hell be here for one start and hell go back (to Buffalo), and it will give those guys an extra breather." The 25-year-old Hendriks has never before faced the Reds. Toronto is 8-4 versus Cincinnati dating back to the 2003 campaign. Mat Latos, meanwhile, aims to build off an excellent season debut on Friday evening as he gets the call for the Reds. A 14-game winner in three of the last four seasons, Latos had a rough go of things to begin the year. He underwent knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus in the spring, then had his return delayed due to an elbow strain while rehabbing. Latos finally took the mound on Saturday versus Milwaukee and got a no- decision despite hurling six scoreless innings. He scattered two hits and fanned four without a walk, exiting after 87 pitches in a game the Reds eventually lost. "(It) was emotional for sure," said Latos. "First time back in a while. I felt good. The outcome kind of sucks but thats baseball. Well come back strong tomorrow." Latos will face the Blue Jays for the second time in his career looking to get the Reds back into the win column after they lost a 4-3 decision to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday. They had won three in a row and six of their last seven. Devin Mesoraco tied the game for Cincinnati with a solo homer in the top of the ninth, but Pittsburgh scored the winning run in the 12th frame on a two- out, bases-loaded walk. Cincinnati righty Homer Bailey went 5 2/3 innings, giving up nine hits and three runs while striking out five. "I feel like throughout the whole game, they had maybe one or two balls that were hit real solid," said Bailey. Saucony Clearance Sale . The Detroit Tigers slugger fell short in his bid to become the first player to win the Triple Crown in successive seasons. But Cabrera clinched his third batting title in a row, finishing with a .348 average after sitting out Sundays regular-season finale at Miami -- a no-hitter by the Marlins Henderson Alvarez. Now Cabreras headed for the playoffs with the AL Central champion Tigers. And he denied any disappointment about not winning another Triple Crown. "I still had a good season," he said. "I have the same numbers I had last year, and we won the division." Actually, his statistics are better than they were in 2012, when he was the AL MVP. His batting average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage are all higher than a year ago. Last year he batted .330 with 44 homers and 139 RBIs. This year he had 44 home runs and 137 RBIs. In 2012 Cabrera became the first player to win the Triple Crown since Carl Yastrzemski in 1967. He failed to repeat for two reasons: injuries and Chris Davis. A number of nagging injuries over the past couple months limited Cabrera to 148 games this season, down from 161 last year. That prevented him from keeping up with Davis, who had 53 homers and 138 RBIs for the Baltimore Orioles. Cabrera easily won the batting title. His average was a career high, as was his slugging percentage of .636.& quoot; Its great," he said. Saucony Outlet Store. "Last year was hard. I think this year I was more consistent. I kept my average up. Its nice." Cabrera is the first player to win three consecutive AL batting titles since Wade Boggs won four in a row in 1985-88. He had two hits in each of his two games against Miami and appears to be fully healthy again. "Im really happy with where Cabrera is right now," manager Jim Leyland said. "He looks really good." Cabrera has hit .324 or higher each of the past five years, hiking his career average to .321. He has 365 home runs, hitting more than 25 each of the past 10 years. "Hes the best hitter in baseball," Leyland said. "Theres no question about it. Just stop the conversation. He gets no infield hits, because hes not able to leg anything out. But he hits the ball over the fence to all fields and drives in big runs, and he hits .350." The Tigers final regular-season series was a homecoming for Cabrera, who played in Miami for the first time since the Marlins dealt him in a 2007 trade that ranks with baseballs most lopsided in recent years. He received a warm ovation each time he batted during the weekend. Coincidentally, the Marlins personnel boss who traded Cabrera -- Larry Beinfest -- was fired Friday. Cabrera laughed when told Marlins fans are still unhappy about the trade. "Detroit was happy," Cabrera said. ' ' '

NICE, France -- Second-seeded Ernests Gulbis maintained his perfect record in ATP tour finals as he defeated Federico Delbonis to win the Open de Nice on Saturday. Cheap Giants Jerseys China . The Latvian triumphed 6-1, 7-6 (5) for his sixth career tournament victory. Gulbis secured the opening set in just 26 minutes, but then wasted three break points early in the second. He fell behind in the tiebreaker, but fought back to win five of the next six points and secured the victory when Delbonis hit a forehand into the net. "I am really happy to win here," said Gulbis, who should rise to a career-high of 15 in the rankings. "My next goal is to be top 10, even top eight. I think if I play well in the Grand Slams, I have a good chance. Its tough to kick out somebody from the top as theres a lot of good players but I am working on it." Gulbis dropped just three points on his first serve -- and none in the first set -- and also hit nine aces. The seventh-seeded Delbonis also wasted two break points in the second set. "He played well, I didnt start the best way and he broke me twice," Delbonis said. "In the second set I gave my best, it was more equal. I had my chances but couldnt take them because he served well. Im happy for this week and although this match wasnt the best, Im happy for playing it." Gulbis faces Lukasz Kubot in the first round of the French Open, while Delbonis will play Dusan Lajovic. Venable and Jeremy Hermida drove in three runs apiece, and the Padres beat the Colorado Rockies 7-2 on Sunday to snap a nine-game losing streak.BATON ROUGE, La. -- Les Miles loves calling Death Valley the place opponents dreams go to die. The same might someday be said about Johnny Manziels bid for a second Heisman Trophy. Terrence Magee piled up a career-high 149 yards rushing, LSUs defence pulled the plug on Johnny Football and Texas A&Ms video-game offence, and No. 18 LSU energized Tiger Stadium with a commanding 34-10 victory over the ninth-ranked Aggies on Saturday. "We just got punched in the mouth tonight and it wasnt fun," Manziel said. "It wasnt fun to get beat like that. We will see how we handle adversity. This team with a bunch of young guys -- we just have to see how they bounce back." What was likely Manziels only visit to Tiger Stadium (he could turn pro next year) was among the worst outings of his otherwise brilliant career. He passed for 224 yards and a TD, but completed only 16 of 41 attempts, was sacked twice and intercepted twice as the Aggies road winning streak ended at 10. Two weeks ago, LSUs young defence appeared ground down in the second half of a 38-17 loss at Alabama, begging the question of how vulnerable the unit might be against Texas A&M (8-3, 4-3 Southeastern Conference), whose SEC-leading offence came in averaging a whopping 578 yards and 49.2 points per game. Instead, the Tigers (8-3, 4-3) became the first to shut out Manziel in a first quarter since September of 2012, and ended A&Ms 13-game streak of scoring 40 or more points. The Aggies point and yardage totals were their lowest since coach Kevin Sumlin arrived last season, when Manziel, the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner, became the starting quarterback as a redshirt freshman. Miles, given the game ball by his players, counted himself among the least surprised by way the Tigers made Manziels visit a miserable one. "They look forward to playing a quality opponent with marquee written all over it," LSUs coach said. "Competition: Its a long word and theres a lot to it. ... This is a team that knows how to play in big games and will fight you. "The defence rushed and maintained leverage and we put speed on the field and covered," Miles added. "Thats the kind of LSU defence that were used to." The Tigers gave some credit to Odell Beckham, whos been named a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award, given to the nations top receiver. His five catches for 50 yards helped, but it was his work imitating Manziel with the scout team in practice that gave LSUs defence a good sense of how to contain a dynamic scrambler. "Odell may be faster than the opponents quarterback,"; Miles said. Will Clark Jersey. "Hes as elusive as anybody Ive ever known." The Aggies Biletnikoff candidate, Mike Evans, was held to four catches for 51 yards by freshman Rashard Robinson, who also made his first career interception. New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton was among the 92,949 in attendance, eager to get a firsthand look at two of the top quarterbacks in college football. He may have left more impressed with LSUs Zach Mettenberger, who completed 11-of-20 passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns without an interception in chilly, wet and windy conditions. He found Jarvis Landry four times for 87 yards, including touchdowns of 40 and 10 yards. LSU piled up 324 yards on 55 carries, with Magee and Kenny Hilliard each powering in for short scores. LSU also outgained Texas A&M in total yards, 517-299. "With the weather conditions tonight, that was something that kind of had to happen," Magee said. "We wanted to keep Johnny off the field and the only way to do that was to keep the ball on the ground and let the clock run." LSU finished with a time-of-possession advantage of 40:19 to 19:41. That kept the defence fresh, and it showed. In the first half, the Tigers ended one Aggies drive by pressuring Manziel into an errant pass on a fourth-down stop from the LSU 3. Later, Danielle Hunters sack forced A&M to settle for Josh Lambos 41-yard field goal. Senior safety Craig Loston intercepted Manziel in the end zone in the fourth quarter. "We were not able to stay on the field offensively. Because of that our defence just got grounded down. You have got to give LSU credit across the board," Sumlin said. "Offensively, LSU stuck to their plan and I thought our defence held up for a long time, but we gave up a couple of big plays that separated it. Thats something we need to learn from. "You get on the road and the crowd gets into it; I thought we started pressing a little bit offensively," Sumlin added. The temperature at kickoff was 51 degrees, with a chilly breeze powering a soaking, sideways mist. A&M also opened the game driving into the wind, and its passing game appeared the worse for it as Manziel went 2 for 11 in the first quarter, an omen of a tough day ahead. The LSU offence opened with run-heavy play calling and controlled the line of scrimmage, creating the games first explosive play on Magees career-long 65-yard run to the A&M 1. Three plays later, Magee powered in to complete a five-play, 71-yard scoring drive during which he ran on every play -- and the Tigers had the lead for good. ' ' '

It’s a pretty common occurrence for fans and analysts to make bold predictions about a game or season. If the prediction doesn’t come true http://www.thesaintsfootballauthentic.co...-authentic , then that’s OK - you said it was bold! If it DOES come true, though... now you look like a genius! So in that spirit, some of the Canal Street Chronicles writers were asked to share with me a bold prediction or two for the Week 3 of the regular season for the New Orleans Saints: facing the divisional rival Atlanta Falcons on the road. This is their chance to look brilliant! Here are a few of the bold predictions provided by some of the contributors at Canal Street Chronicles:The Daily Advertiser-USA TODAY NTurnovers Galore - Saints pick off the Falcons three times, with PJ Williams grabbing his first INT of the season. (Bryan)Is this really bold? - Michael Thomas has over 100 receiving yards in the game. (Ellias)Big Day for the Defense - Saints defense holds Atlanta to under 350 total yards. (Hendrix)Showing his Worth - Marcus Davenport records his first sack of the year. (Don) VERY Bold - Taysom Hill scores more touchdowns in the game than Tevin Coleman. (Rev)DROY Bounces Back - Marshon Lattimore takes an interception to the house. (Bob)Tough Day for Ryan - Saints sack Matt Ryan four times in the game. (Hendrix)Rookie Comes Up Big - Tre’Quan Smith has 80 receiving yards and a touchdown. (Bob)Here are my three bold predictions for the game1f60bhoto by Chris Graythen/Getty ImagesTre’Quan Smith has more receiving yards than Calvin Ridley.Drew Brees isn’t sacked the entire game.Falcons are kept to less than 50 yards on the ground. So there are some of our bold predictions for the game. What are yours? What’s good, Who Dats!? It’s Tee Word, and I’m back with the New Orleans Saints Player of the Week for Weeks 8 & 9 of 2018! For the second consecutive week, a defensive player rose to the occasion and and takes home the recognition and is joined by an offensive standout in week 9. Closing a week of constant replays of the Minnesota Miracle, the Saints defense, led by Sheldon Rankins, Marcus Davenport http://www.thesaintsfootballauthentic.co...-authentic , and P.J. Williams, made sure that there would be no Miracle Redux in Minnesota. In a dominant 30-20 victory, all three players made an impact in one of the best defensive performances of the year, but Williams gets the nod because of the timing of his standout plays. As an encore to dominating the Vikings for much of the game, the Saints returned home to defend the Dome and take control of the NFC playoff picture versus the Los Angeles Rams. After a lopsided first half that ended 35-17 in favor of the Saints, the Rams battled back to tie the game, only to ultimately fall 45-35. P.J. Williams and DeMario Davis had strong showings for the defense and Drew Brees was back to his masterful passing but Michael Thomas stole the show and the headlines after the game. I’m going to share my thoughts for each week separately, so hang on for a long ride covering two weeks of Saints football.Let’s get started with week 8:Against Minnesota, Sheldon Rankins was disruptive from his defensive tackle position, filling gaps and offering very little space on run plays. Even more impressive was the way he pushed the pocket and bullied his way to the quarterback for two aggressive sacks where he swallowed Kirk Cousins with raw strength. On Sunday night in Minnesota Youth Michael Thomas Jersey , Marcus Davenport did a lot more than flash his talent, he displayed speed and power for the world to see. Not only did Marcus provide pressure off the edge all night, he showed great awareness while making his second sack as he stripped Cousins of the football. Cousins was ruled down but it was a heads up play by the rookie to secure the tackle then get greedy. Unfortunately Davenport sustained an injury on the play but did finish the game. Tough news for a guy starting to figure it out but the projection of missed time is currently only four weeks. Get well soon Marcus! Our winner of the week 8 player of the week distinction is someone who has been talked about in a negative light for quite some time. At the start of the game, P.J. Williams found himself targeted early and often by Cousins and the Vikings were finding success. But to deploy a couple of cliches: “all good things must come to an end” and “went to the well too many times”.Late in the second quarter, with Minnesota in scoring position, Cousins passed short to wide receiver Adam Thielen and Williams and linebacker Alex Anzalone converged on him for the tackle. Marshon Lattimore scooped up the loose ball and returned it into Vikings territory to setup a Saints score. While officially Anzalone is credited with the forced fumble, it looks pretty clear from my view that P.J. jarred the ball loose. The timing of the turnover opened the door for the Saints to assert themselves as the more dominant team. Not done for the day, Williams then intercepted Cousins on a short pass to Stefon Diggs and took it 45 yards to pay dirt in the 3rd quarter to place the Saints squarely in control of the game. While it wasn’t a perfect performance for Williams, his timing of his shining moments couldn’t have been better as both plays swung momentum in the road team’s favor.Shifting to week 9, here are my thoughts and winner:The defense gave fans hope for most the game by keeping Rams runningback Todd Gurley in check and holding their receivers to limited production in the first half. At one point before intermission http://www.thesaintsfootballauthentic.co...-authentic , the Saints held a 35-14 advantage. The third quarter saw the Rams surge and the Saints sag, but by mid fourth quarter, the defense settled down for a couple of key stops to keep the Rams at bay.As previously mentioned, Brees was up to his old tricks after a dull performance versus Minnesota in which he threw his first interception of 2018. Brees went 25/36 for 346 yards and 4 touchdowns with no interceptions. Like the defense, most of the damage was done in the first half, but Brees struck a mighty blow to ice the game on a 72 yard bomb to Thomas, showing off that magical touch on the throw. The Cool Brees was awarded FedEx Air Player of the Week for his efforts. All of those things are nice, but week 9 belonged to #cantguardmike! Thomas was reliable, physical, and produced at an elite level versus what was initially thought to be a tough match-up with cornerback Marcus Peters. Well...that fizzled and died early as Thomas caught 12 of 15 targets for 211 yards and 1 TD. Mike now holds the season high for receiving yards and the Saints franchise record for most receiving yards in one game. As previously mentioned http://www.thesaintsfootballauthentic.co...-authentic , Thomas was on the receiving end of a 72 yard score from Brees that closed the door on the Rams hopes for a win. And then the theatrics...after racing away from the defense and crossing the goalline, Thomas bee-lined for the goalpost and lifted the padding to unveil a flip phone. He then proceeded to pay homage to Saints legend Joe Horn with an epic blast from the past that drove the crowd in the Dome wild. Thomas was awarded the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for week 9.Heading into week 10, the Saints look to remain focused and leave Cincinnati with a win over the Bengals on the road. As always, Thanks for reading, Be Cool Who Dats! nflshopoutlet.com

Gil Brandt and Pat Bowlen have been nominated for the Pro Football Hall of Fame as contributors to the game.Currently a consultant to the NFL and one of the key figures in the staging of the draft http://www.dallascowboysteamonline.com/a...per-jersey , Brandt was one of the key contributors to the building of the Dallas Cowboys. As vice president of player personnel from 1960-89, Brandt helped Dallas grow into one of the most powerful and popular sports franchises in America. Among the Cowboys' innovations were extensive use of computers and deeply scouting the historically black colleges for talent."This is, without question, one of the greatest things that have happened in my life," Brandt said Thursday.Bowlen, the longtime owner of the Denver Broncos Authentic Dak Prescott Jersey , is the only owner in NFL history with 300 overall victories during his first 30 seasons. Under his leadership, the Broncos had a sensational run of success, winning three Super Bowls and seven conference titles."This is an exciting day for our family and the Broncos fans who have been so supportive of Pat Bowlen for the Pro Football Hall of Fame," Bowlen's family said in a statement. "Pat would be the first to say it's not just about him but a credit to the many players, coaches and executives he worked with over the years. We're thankful to the contributor committee for recognizing the incredible impact Pat's had on the NFL."As we look forward to the final vote, our family also congratulates Gil Brandt on his well-deserved nomination."The contributors committee is comprised of nine members of the overall selection committee. The 2019 contributor nominees were reduced to 10 semifinalists. Then Womens Taco Charlton Jersey , on a rotating basis, five of the nine members of the committee met at the Hall of Fame to discuss each of the nominees. The category is for individuals who made outstanding contributions to professional football in capacities other than playing or coaching. To be elected to the hall, Bowlen and Brandt each must receive 80 percent voting support by the entire 48-member selection committee in February on the day before the Super Bowl.Previously, the senior committee nominated former Kansas City Chiefs defensive back Johnny Robinson. As the days continue to pile up, the Cowboys playoff loss to the Los Angeles Rams grows farther in the distance. Truth be told it was less than a week ago and an interesting detail from the contest has emerged.According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, defensive tackle Antwaun Woods tore his labrum in the second quarter of the game in LA. Remarkably Authentic Sean Lee Jersey , he played through it over the course of the rest of the game. Woods took to Twitter to corroborate the report and chime in why he fought through the pain.Rapoport also notes that Woods had surgery on Thursday. This we knew thanks to Woods’ Instagram account (and the BTB Twitter which you should definitely be following). Thankfully, he will reportedly be ready to go in the spring.Antwaun Woods is one of the more interesting finds that the Cowboys have had recently. He’s gelled nicely into the locker room, he was a champion of the “Hot Boyz” moniker, and become an important player in the heart of Rod Marinelli’s defensive line. He’s also a warrior. We’re lucky to have him. Get well soon, Antwaun. Custom Miami Dolphins Jerseys

Quite a start, huh?" 鈥?Tampa Bay coach Dirk Koetter after 35-year-old Ryan Fitzpatrick highlighted a 417-yard, four-touchdown performance with two scoring strikes of more than 50 yards in a 48-40 win at New Orleans. The New York Jets placed left guard James Carpenter on the injured reserve list Wednesday with a shoulder injury, ending the season for one of the team's most reliable players.Carpenter had started in 58 straight games since signing with the Jets as a free agent in 2015 until missing New York's 27-13 loss to New England last Sunday."It's big," coach Todd Bowles said. "He's one of our captains, one of the toughest guys we have on the team. It's tough for him because he doesn't get injured as much, at least not while he was here. The next guy has got to step up and play."Center Spencer Long, who was struggling with a finger injury that was causing him to misfire on some shotgun snaps, moved from center to left guard last week against the Patriots. Jonotthan Harrison took over in Long's spot, and it appears that could be the plan moving forward. Bowles mentioned that backups Dakota Dozier and Brent Qvale could also factor into the mix."We're rotating the centers and the guards in case something happens," Bowles said, "but (Long) had the ability to play there last week, so we'll look at him again this week along with the two other guys."The 29-year-old Carpenter was a first-round pick by Seattle out of Alabama in 2011. He played his first four seasons with the Seahawks, including winning a Super Bowl in 2014. He signed a four-year, $19.1 million contract with the Jets in March 2015, and is scheduled to become a free agent in the offseason. The Jets also announced they promoted offensive lineman Ben Braden from the practice squad. Braden was signed by New York as an undrafted free agent out of Michigan last year, when he spent the entire season on the practice squad. He made the Jets' initial roster out of training camp this year and was inactive for the season opener, but was later cut and then re-signed to the practice squad.Running back Mark Thompson was signed to the practice squad. He was signed by Baltimore as an undrafted free agent in the spring out of Florida.

DAVIE, Fla. -- Last month, Richie Incognito said severe repercussions would be warranted if the Miami Dolphins kept allowing sacks at such an alarming rate. "Everybody should be fired," he said. Nobody in Miami is talking about sacks anymore. Firings remain a distinct possibility for very different reasons. The Dolphins harassment scandal is threatening the season and job security, leaving the future of coach Joe Philbin, his assistants and general manager Jeff Ireland in doubt. Tackle Jonathan Martin alleges he was harassed daily by teammates, including Incognito, who has been suspended. While Martin is scheduled to meet with an NFL special investigator late this week, Dolphins owner Stephen Ross has formed two committees to study the teams locker room culture. "Changes need to be made," Ross said at a news conference Monday. "We need to examine everything internally." Someone in the organization will likely be designated the primary culprit for the scandal, and Irelands the early front-runner. Ross said he had "total, utmost confidence" in Philbin but barely mentioned Ireland, who didnt attend the news conference. Philbin, who is 11-14 since joining the Dolphins last year, said he appreciated Ross vote of confidence. "The only way you succeed if there is support within the whole entire organization," the coach said. "It starts at the top." Ireland, who rarely speaks publicly, didnt respond to a request for comment. The findings of the NFL investigator could sway Ross opinion, as could the final seven games and dwindling fan support. The Dolphins (4-5) have slumped after a 3-0 start, and on Monday they became the first team to lose to Tampa Bay. Another half-empty stadium is likely Sunday when they play host to San Diego. To the dismay of many Miami fans, Ireland is in his sixth year with the Dolphins even though they havent had a winning season since 2008, and Ross patience with his beleaguered general manager might finally be exhausted. Among the many questionable personnel decisions in recent years, pairinng Martin and Incognito on the left side of the line appears to have been the most disastrous. Cheap Nike Air Force 1 Wholesale. "It is not just about Richie Incognito, its just not about Jonathan Martin, it is about the organization as a whole, from the top down," former NFL receiver Keyshawn Johnson said on ESPN, where he is now an analyst. "In a locker room setting, everybody has to coexist. Or you at least have to know what personalities go together. . Obviously, the Dolphins didnt do their homework." Former Dolphins coach Jimmy Johnson echoed that opinion on Fox and questioned Irelands decision to take Martin in the second round of the 2012 draft. "The Dolphins used a high pick on Jonathan Martin and had high expectations," Johnson said. "Well, other teams shied away from Martin. Maybe the Dolphins should have investigated why they shied away." The scandal has rekindled fan ire toward Ireland, a Bill Parcells protege. Critics are quick to recall Irelands role in the clunky courtship of coach Jim Harbaugh in 2011, and Ireland asking Dez Bryant in a 2010 pre-draft interview if the receivers mother was ever a prostitute. There also have been a multitude of questionable personnel moves, which last off-season ranged from letting Reggie Bush go to keeping Incognito. Philbin had input in some of those decisions, and he was responsible for overseeing the locker room environment now under scrutiny. "People are asking me how Joe Philbin could not know what was going on in that locker room," former NFL coach Tony Dungy said in his analyst role on NBC. "Well, as a head coach, you dont know everything. My job was to set the atmosphere up, and I counted on my leaders. So, if I said no hazing in the locker room, then it was up to Derrick Brooks, Jeff Saturday, Reggie Wayne and those types of guys to control it." Dungy is on a committee assigned by Ross to review the Dolphins code of conduct. The committee also includes Pro Football Hall of Fame coach Don Shula, and former NFL players Dan Marino, Jason Taylor and Curtis Martin. ' ' '

The top-ranked Williams, who has won the clay-court tournament the past two years, hit 11 aces and broke Bencic five times to advance in less than an hour. Williams will play Peng Shuai of China in the second round. The eighth-seeded Sharapova will play Christina McHale of the United States next. The Cubs made the moves before Thursdays game against Arizona. They promoted left-hander Zac Rosscup and right-hander Neil Ramirez from Triple-A Iowa and optioned righty Blake Parker to their top minor league team.MONTREAL -- It was all about energy as the youthful New York Islanders skated rings around the Montreal Canadiens. Ryan Strome and Brock Nelson scored power-play goals late in the second period and Evgeni Nabokov made 19 saves for the shutout as the Islanders downed the listless Canadiens 2-0 on Thursday night. "We outworked them," said the Islanders Matt Martin. "They played (Wednesday) night and we were a little fresher than them and we had some young legs in the lineup. "We tracked hard." The loss, combined with Tampa Bays 4-2 win over Philadelphia, compromised the Canadiens (45-28-8) chances of starting the playoffs on home ice. Montreal is second in the Atlantic Division with 98 points and one game left to play while the Lightning has 97 points with two games left in the regular season. The Canadiens will need to win their final regular season game Saturday night at home against the New York Rangers and hope the Lightning lose either Friday night against Columbus or Sunday against Washington. "You want home ice, you want to go into the playoffs feeling good about your game, and weve got Saturday night to do that," said Montreal captain Brian Gionta. The Canadiens felt anything but good about their play against the Islanders (32-37-11), who posted their first regulation time win in four games but improved to 7-2-2 in their last 11. Nabokov got his fourth shutout of the season. "Its no fun losing at this time, but sometimes, youre just not good enough," said Thomas Vanek, who was traded to Montreal by the Islanders last month. "You have to give them credit, and at the same time, we sucked. "The coaches prepared us and -- I dont know if it was tired legs or we were mentally not there or both, but overall they kept skating hard and putting pressure on us and we didnt have a push back." The Canadiens also got the bad news that second line winger Alex Galchenyk,, who appeared to injure his right knee in Wednesdays 3-2 overtime loss in Chicago, will miss the first round of playoffs with a lower body injury. Wholesale Air Max 95 Australia. . Montreal came out flat and never got any momentum as they were outshot 30-19. New York held a 9-2 shot advantage early in the opening period but couldnt beat Carey Price, even when the Montreal goaltender wandered halfway up the left boards and then misplayed the puck. But Canadiens defenceman Douglas Murray, who returned from a three game suspension, was ejected at 10:52 of the second period for a check from behind on Johan Sundstrom. The Islanders rookie turned around just as the Canadiens defenceman hit him at the side of the net into the end boards. Sundstrom was injured and was taken to hospital. New York coach Jack Capuano said Sundstrom would likely be kept in hospital for observation and not travel with the team back to New York. "It was a tough one," said Capuano. "(Murray) is not that type of player. "Its one hed probably like to have back. Hopefully our guy will be all right." The Islanders used the ensuing power play to open the scoring, as Strome put a shot past Price through a Casey Cizikas screen from the right circle at 15:07. With Vanek off for high-sticking, Nelson whipped a shot under the cross bar from close range at 19:40. Canadiens coach Michel Therrien said only Prices solid goaltending kept the score close. "It was bad performance fro our team," said Therrien. "Every aspect of our game wasnt sharp." Murray drew his first career suspension for an elbow to the head of Tampa Bays Michael Kostka on April 1. Notes: Price and defencemen Andrei Markov and Alexei Elemin, who were given a game off Wednesday in Chicago, were back in the lineup. Forward Lars Eller missed a second game with a flu. . . after the game, the Canadiens returned defenceman Nathan Beaulieu to AHL Hamilton. ' ' '

The Grizzlies erased most of a 25-point deficit before Durant, the leagues scoring champion, got hot. Wholesale Authentic Jordans China . Off-Season Game Plan looks at a Wild team that has a nice mix of proven veterans along with young, inexpensive talent on the rise. When the Wild signed Zach Parise and Ryan Suter, making a big splash in the summer of 2012, it set the franchise on a path to being more competitive, but a big reason that they have been so competitive is the contributions of young players who still have more to give. http://www.cheapjordansauthentic.com/ .com) - John Wall supplied 24 points and 11 assists in leading the Washington Wizards to a 102-91 win over the New York Knicks on Christmas Day.New Orleans, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - Matt Ryan threw for 322 yards and the Atlanta Falcons maligned defense rose to the occasion in a season-saving 30-14 victory over New Orleans that dropped the erratic Saints out of the NFC South race. Entering this critical divisional showdown ranked at the bottom of the NFL in total defense, pass defense and sacks, the Falcons put forth their best effort of the year on that side of the ball to set up a winner-take-all matchup with Carolina for the NFC South crown next Sunday at the Georgia Dome. Atlanta (6-9) held the Saints to 328 total yards and came up with five sacks and four takeaways, including a pivotal fumble from Jimmy Graham at the goal line early in the fourth quarter and Osi Umenyioras 86-yard fumble return touchdown on the final play. Im so proud of the effort they gave and the way they executed out there, said Ryan of the defense. They were the reason we got it done today. Ryan did his part as well, completing a sharp 30-of-40 passes with a touchdown and no turnovers. Julio Jones racked up 107 yards on seven catches after not practicing the entire week due to a hip injury. Drew Brees finished 30-of-47 for 313 yards and a touchdown to Graham, but was intercepted twice in the loss, the fifth straight at the Superdome for New Orleans (6-9). You have to be able to convert third downs. You have to go make some plays, said Brees. I know we missed some big-play opportunities in the passing game. You just have to sustain drives. We just havent been able to do that at home those two times. Brees second pick all but sealed the Saints fate. After New Orleans got the ball back at its own 10-yard line down just 20-14 with 2:40 left, Falcons cornerback Robert McClain jumped a route and snared the quarterbacks short pass intended for Nick Toon to place Atlanta deep in enemy territory. The turnover led to Matt Bryants third field goal of the day, a 32-yarder with 1:56 to go. It was a big-time play, said Falcons head coach Mike Smith of the interception. (McClain) got a great jump on the ball. Roberts continued to improve all season long. I know that some people had talked about him not making plays. He made the play when we needed the play made. The Saints managed to move inside the Atlanta 10 with time winding down, but the last-ditch effort turned into disaster when Kroy Biermann jarred the ball loose from Brees and Umenyiora scooped up the fumble before taking it the other way right as the clock expired. Atlanta also was able to withstand a brutal start to the game, as the Saints Jalen Saunders returned the opening kickoff 99 yards to the 1-yard line and Mark Ingram powered across the goal line on the next play, giving New Orleans a 7-0 edge a mere 20 seconds in. Those were the Saints lone two highlights of the first half, as the offense generated a paltry 78 yards over the initial ttwo quarters with the Falcons dominating the line of scrimmage. Cheap Authentic Jordans Free Shipping. . Brees was intercepted once and sacked three times, one on a second-quarter blitz from safety Dwight Lowery that took the team out of field goal range. Atlanta countered Ingrams quick score with Bryants 44-yard field goal on its first possession, set up by Ryans 36-yard strike to Devonta Freeman on a wheel route out of the backfield. The Falcons went three-and-out on their next two series, but a pair of Roddy White catches totaling 26 yards on Atlantas subsequent trek led to Bryant booting a 50-yard field goal that cut the lead to 7-6 early in the second quarter. Following another New Orleans punt, the Falcons put together their longest drive of the season -- a 15-play, 89-yard march in which Ryan completed nine passes and converted three third-down situations. The last, a 24-yard delivery to Jones on 3rd-and-10, put the ball on the 3- yard line with eight seconds on the first-half clock. Ryan then hit Eric Weems with a shovel toss on the ensuing snap to send Atlanta into the break owning a 13-7 advantage. An 86-yard drive that took just seven plays extended the Falcons margin in the third quarter, with Freeman capping the sequence by side-stepping a defender near the line of scrimmage and taking off for a 31-yard touchdown with 5:42 left in the period. Brees got the Saints into the red zone on the following possession, which came up empty as well when Graham was stood up by Dezmen Southward at the goal line on a 12-yard reception and Kemal Ishmael ripped the ball out of the star tight ends hands. Did I think it was a score? Yes, said Saints head coach Sean Payton of the play. The one look we had as they continued to show it looked pretty clear, and yet, it is what it is. They go back to New York now with that and its disappointing. New Orleans did put up points on its next series, driving nearly the entire length of the field and trimming the deficit to 20-14 when Graham came down with Brees 4-yard back-shoulder throw with 5:48 left to play. Game Notes The Falcons came in just 1-5 against New Orleans at the Superdome under Smith, while Brees owned a 7-1 mark versus Atlanta at home ... The Saints had won a franchise-record 11 straight home games prior to its present slide ... Atlanta running back Steven Jackson did not return from a quad injury sustained in the second quarter, with safety William Moore (shoulder) exiting for the Falcons in the third quarter ... Saints running back Pierre Thomas was forced from the contest in the second quarter with a foot injury ... Atlanta entered the game having recorded just 16 sacks through its first 14 outings ... Ryan threw for a franchise-record 448 yards and three touchdowns in the teams Week 1 meeting, a 37-34 Atlanta victory in overtime. ' ' '

Chapel Hill, NC (SportsNetwork. Puma Shoes Australia Sale .com) - Brice Johnson posted 18 points and 14 rebounds as 15th-ranked North Carolina kept up its strong recent play with a 78-74 victory over Florida State. Marcus Paige added 19 points and Justin Jackson put up 14 in the Tar Heels ninth triumph in their last 10 outings. North Carolina (16-4, 6-1 ACC) will take a five-game win streak into a difficult upcoming stretch against Syracuse, Louisville and No. 2 Virginia. I think we are getting tougher and tougher every day, said Tar Heels center Kennedy Meeks, who finished with 12 points. We have a lot of guys out, so we are just trying to bring it together, really grind it out in practice and focus on what Coach (Roy Williams) is saying. Florida State (10-10, 2-5) hung tough for most of the afternoon, with Xavier Rathan-Mayes career-high 35 points keeping the Seminoles in it, before ultimately being dealt its fourth loss in its last five in ACC play. Though the Tar Heels were in front most of the way, their lead was just 67-63 with under five minutes remaining after Rathan-Mayes knocked down jumpers on consecutive possessions. The teams then traded free throws before North Carolina began to draw clear down the stretch. Jackson tipped in a Paige miss and J.P. Tokoto followed with a successful midrange shot after Rathan-Mayes missed a 3-point try, with the basket extending the lead to 71-63 with 2:57 to go. Florida State came up empty on its next four trips down the court as well, and the margin was 10 when Meeks scored inside for UNC with 46 seconds left. Defensively, we did everything we could to try to keep the ball out of the post, Seminoles head coach Leonard Hamilton said. There were a couple of occasions where they threw it over the top and got some easy buckets. I thought those two things are where we fell short. Rathan-Mayes buried a trio of 3-pointers thereafter, however, with the final one trimming FSUs deficit to 75-72 before Paige helped seal the outcome by making a pair of foul shots with 16 seconds to play. He was a difficult guy for us to guard, Tar Heels head coach Roy Williams said of Rathan-Mayes. Sometimes hed come off the screen and a big guy would be there, and the next time he would refuse a screen and beat a defender back to the basket. The Tar Heels opened up a 21-12 advantage nearing the midway mark of the first half after Paige scored the final five points of a 9-1 run, and the differential was 11 points when Tokotos bucket with five minutes left in the period put North Carolina up by a 30-19 count. Florida State then began to heat up offensively, hitting three straight shots to finish off a 12-3 spurt. The last of those makes, a 3-pointer from Devon Bookert, pulled the Seminoles within 33-31 prior to Jacksons jumper in the final minute that sent North Carolina into the break ahead by four. A 6-0 stretch staked the Tar Heels to a 54-45 lead with under 10 1/2 minutes remaining, and owned a 63-54 edge until another Booker trey ignited a 7-2 FSU flurry. Game Notes Rathan-Mayes previous career high was 26 points, set against the Citadel on Nov. 25 ... Johnson finished 7-of-9 from the field ... Tar Heels guard Nate Britt, questionable coming into the game after he sustained a lacerated lip that required 15 stitches in Wednesdays win at Wake Forest, did play and scored four points in 14 minutes ... North Carolina improved to 10-0 when Jackson scores in double figures ... The Tar Heels improved to 19-4 all-time against Florida State in Chapel Hill and have won five straight overall in the series. As Major League Soccer prepares to lift the curtain on another season, TSN.ca presents the second of our five part season preview, taking a look at the American based teams in the Western Conference. Chivas USA In 2013, Chivas USA took their usual spot at the bottom of the Western Conference standings.  In fact, the only year since 2010 where anyone finished behind them was in 2011 when they managed to finish one place ahead of the expansion Vancouver Whitecaps. Former Colorado Rapids assistant coach Wilmer Cabrera will be the latest man charged with bringing chaos to order at Los Angeles second MLS team that very recently also became owned by the league with an eye on a new name and logo. Veteran Midfielder Mauro Rosales will be counted on to create and drive the offence while new defensive acquisition Andrew Jean-Baptiste will hope to improve a defence that easily allowed the most goals last season. As always, Chivas has a long way to go before they are considered contenders for anything, but at least theyve finally taken a positive step in the right direction. Chivas will open the season by welcoming the Chicago Fire to the StubHub Center on March 9th.  They will face their first Canadian opponent in their second game when they host the Vancouver Whitecaps on March 16th. Whos In?: M Mauro Rosales (trade from Seattle), D Andrew Jean-Baptiste (trade from Portland), F Adolfo Bautista (free agent), D Tony Lochhead (free agent), D Andrew Ribeiro (free agent), D Fejiro Okiomah (free agent), D Donny Toia (free agent), M Agustín Pelletieri (free agent), F Luke Moore (free agent), F Eriq Zavaleta (loan from Seattle) Whos Out?: D Mario de Luna  (end of loan from CD Guadalajara), D Jaime Frias (end of loan from CD Guadalajara), M Edgar Mejía (end of loan from CD Guadalajara), F Julio Morales (end of loan from CD Guadalajara), GK Patrick McLain (option declined), D Steve Purdy (option declined), D Daniel Antunez (option declined), M Marvin Iraheta (option declined), M Josue Soto (option declined), F José Manuel Rivera (option declined), F Tristan Bowen (traded to Seattle), D Jorge Villafaña (traded to Portland), M Gabriel Farfan (loaned to Chiapas), M Carlo Chueca (waived), F  Bryan de la Fuente (waived) SuperDraft:  M Thomas McNamara (2-20) Colorado Rapids Pablo Mastroeni enters the season in the rare position of being an interim head coach at the beginning of a campaign.  The team that he inherits, one that he partially played on last season, was one of the surprise stories of 2013, forcing their way into the Western Conference playoffs. Gabriel Torres, the first designated player in franchise history, will be counted on to provide offence along with returning leading scorer Deshorn Brown and Edson Buddle. The Rapids were a team that counted on youth, speed and quick transitions from midfield to forward in order to generate the offence they needed to win games.  If any of their young players take a step back this season they could lose a step themselves, and be on the outside looking in at the Western Conference playoff picture. Colorado opens the season on the road against the New York Red Bulls on March 15th after enjoying a first week bye.  They will play their first Canadian team on April 5th when they travel to BC Place to take on the Vancouver Whitecaps. Whos in?: D/M Marc Burch (Re-Entry Stage 1), M Marvin Chávez (trade from San Jose), GK Joe Nasco (free agent) Whos out?: D Diego Calderón (loan expired), M Jaime Castrillón (option declined), GK Steward Ceus (option declined), M Jamie Smith (option declined), M/D Anthony Wallace (free agent), F Atiba Harris (traded to San Jose), M Jamie Smith (retired), M Tony Cascio (loaned to Houston), M Hendry Thomas (traded to FC Dallas), D Kory Kindle (retired) SuperDraft: M Marlon Hairston (1-12), D Grant Van De Casteele (1-19) FC Dallas In his first year in charge of the team, long time FC Dallas assistant, and most recently head coach of the Colorado Rapids, Oscar Pareja will be charged with getting the Texas based squad back into the playoff conversation. Forward Blas Pérez is the most talented player in the squad and will be the man central to the FC Dallas attack on most nights.  The team has struggled when he has been absent or ineffective so keeping him healthy and in the squad is a major priority for Pareja. Where FC Dallas is going to struggle is on defence, where they have trouble keeping their best players on the field.  If they can keep George John and Walker Zimmerman in one piece throughout the year, that should go a long way to locking down their back line. FC Dallas opens the campaign with their first game against a Canadian based MLS team when they lock up with the Montreal Impact at Toyota Stadium on March 8th. Whos in?: M Ryan Hollingshead (2013 SuperDraft), M Adam Moffat (trade from Seattle), M Brian Span (weighted lottery), M Hendry Thomas (traded from Colorado), F Andrés Escobar (loan from Dynamo Kiev), F David Texeira (transfer from FC Groningen) Whos out?: M David Ferreira (option declined), M Ramon Nuñez (option declined), M Erick (option declined), M Jackson (traded to Toronto), M Victor Ulloa (out of contract), D Ugo Ihemelu (option declined), F Kenny Cooper (traded to Seattle), M Bobby Warshaw (transferred to GIAS), F Bradlee Baladez (waived), GK Kyle Zobeck (waived) SuperDraft: F Tesho Akindele (1-6) Los Angeles Galaxy The two-time defending MLS Cup champions were finally unseated last season when they lost to eventual runner up Real Salt Lake in the opening round of the playoffs. No doubt, the Galaxy return one of the most talented teams in the entire league, with both Robbie Keane and Landon Donovan at the forefront of the attack. With Keane no longer involved in international play and no drama as to when Donovan is going to join the squad, Bruce Arenas team should be able to hit the ground running from the first kick of the season. Sean Franklin is going to be a loss felt in the Galaxy defence, as he was one of the key members on their championship squads but they have depth at every position and will be one of the teams to watch once again this season. The Los Angeles Galaxy will open the 2014 season on March 8th in a battle of the last two Western Conference champions when they host Real Salt Lake at the StubHub Center.  They will play a Canadian team for the first time when they face Vancouver Whitecaps on April 12th. Whos in?: M Baggio Husidic (free agent), F Samuel (loan from Fluminense), F Rob Friend (free transfer), M Stefan Ishizaki (free transfer) Whos out?: M Colin Clark (option declined), M Laurent Courtois (option declined), D Sean Frranklin (option declined), M Michael Stephens (out of contract), GK Carlo Cudicini (contract terminated), M Pablo Mastroeni (retired), F Jose Villarreal (loaned to Cruz Azul), M Hector Jimenez (traded to Columbus), M Kyle Nakazawa (retired), D Bryan Gaul (waived), D Greg Cochrane (trade to Chicago) SuperDraft: --- Portland Timbers A hot stretch through April, May and June allowed the Timbers to secure first place in the Western Conference last season and raise the expectation of what they could do in the playoffs. Puma Shoes Online Australia. nbsp; Sadly their season of promise ended in the Western Conference Final. The hiring of head coach Caleb Porter has been credited with turning things around for Portland and if thats the case, his next job will solidifying the squad and proving that their improvement in form was more than just a one season aberration. Canadian midfielder Will Johnson will once again be key to the backbone of the squad and his ability to influence the game in both ends is important to the Timbers overall game plan. Portland opens the season with a pair of home games, including their March 8th debut against the Philadelphia Union.  They will play host to the Vancouver Whitecaps on June 1st, the first Canadian team on their schedule. Whos in?: D Jorge Villafaña (trade from Chivas USA), M Steve Zakuani (Re-Entry Stage 1), GK Andrew Weber (free agent), F Gastón Fernández (transfer from Estudiantes de La Plata), D Norberto Paparatto (transfer from Tigre) Whos out?: D David Horst (option declined), D Ryan Miller (option declined), D Dylan Tucker-Gangnes (waived), F Brent Richards (waived), F Ryan Johnson (out of contract), D Brad Ring (out of contract), D Andrew Jean-Baptiste (traded to Chivas USA), M Sal Zizzo (traded to Sporting KC), D David Horst (traded to Houston), F Sebastián Rincón (loan expired), F José Valencia (loaned to Club Olimpo), GK Milos Kocic (retired), D Mikaël Silvestre (contract terminated) SuperDraft: M/F Schillo Tshuma (1-17) Real Salt Lake Three points from winning the Supporters Shield, one penalty kick short in the MLS Cup, and falling in the U.S. Cup Final, near misses defined a very successful season for Real Salt Lake, if you ignore the final outcomes. Assistant coach Jeff Cassar has now taken over the head coaching duties from long time bench boss Jason Kreis who left the club in the offseason to lead 2015 expansion side New York City FC. Cassars job will be to keep one of the older rosters in the league happy and healthy while continuing the great work his predecessor started.  To help him achieve that goal, hell be able to lean captain Kyle Beckerman, striker Alvaro Saborio, Nick Rimando and defender Nat Borchers, all veterans that should be steady for the defending Western Conference champions. Real Salt Lake will open their season against LA Galaxy on March 8th and see their first Canadian action March 29th when they welcome Toronto FC to Rio Tinto Stadium. After earning himself a new deal with a huge season in 2012, he played hurt last year and it showed in his end of the year totals. The continued improvement of Sam Cronin will be important to the Earthquakes regaining their spot as one of the best teams in the West.  They have the talent to compete and it would be a surprise to see them not able to translate that back onto the field. San Jose Earthquakes will begin the 2014 season against Real Salt Lake on March 15th and will play their first Canadian opposition on May 3rd when they visit BC Place to take on Vancouver Whitecaps. Koval (1-9) Seattle Sounders Despite the acquisition of Clint Dempsey, Seattle Sounders failed to achieve the success they were looking for last season.  They remain one of the leagues most consistent franchises and will once again be in the playoff picture this season. How far they go beyond that will come down to the play of Dempsey and how well he gels with Kenny Cooper and Obafemi Martins as well as the kind of havoc they can create in the opponents third of the field. If the rumours of infighting during the tail end of last season are true and continue, the Sounders could be trending towards the bottom for the first time in franchise history. Seattle opens the season with a pair of home games, including their first Canadian matchup.  They open the season at CenturyLink Field against the defending MLS Cup champion Sporting Kansas City on March 8th and then welcome Toronto FC on March 15th before heading to Montreal to play the Impact on March 22nd. MIAMI -- LeBron James delivered his message loud and clear, without actually saying a word. Cheap Adidas Superstars . Hes willing to leave Miami, if thats what it will take to win more championships. And what happens next will likely be up to not just the Heat, but Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh as well. Through his agent, James informed the Heat on Tuesday that he has decided to opt out of the final two years of his contract, a move that means he becomes a free agent on July 1. He will be able to sign with any team, including Miami, and Heat President Pat Riley said he "fully expected" James to take advantage of his early termination option. "We look forward to sitting down with LeBron and his representatives and talking about our future together," Riley said. The Heat have been preparing for this for some time. James, Wade and Bosh all got six-year contracts when they teamed up in Miami in July 2010, the last time free agency was accompanied by the sort of frenzy that will envelop the league over the next few weeks. But each of those deals came with options to leave either this summer or in 2015, in part to allow both the players and the team to have financial flexibility. James -- who averaged 27.1 points this past season -- was owed $42.7 million for the next two seasons, though that seems irrelevant in the sense that hell be getting plenty of money from the Heat or someone else for years to come. If he stays with Miami, he could sign a deal that would give the team room to manoeuvr within the structures of the salary cap and luxury-tax threshold. So could Wade and Bosh, if they choose to opt out as well -- and if both do, Miami would potentially have plenty of cash to spend on roster upgrades. Neither has announced their plans, though both have previously said they want to remain in Miami. "No news here yet," Wade said Tuesday. James stayed silent as well, with agent Rich Paul being the one who informed the Heat of the four-time NBA MVPs plan. But last week, while still dealing with the sting of losing the NBA Finals to San Antonio, James expressed how enticing the idea of flexibility is to him. "Being able to have flexibility as a professional, anyone, thats what we all would like," James said last week. "Thats in any sport, for a football player, a baseball player, a basketball player, to have flexibility and be able to control your future or your present. I have a position to be able to do that. ... Theres a lot of times that youre not in control of your future as a professional." Hes in control now. He turns 30 next season. He might just be entering his prime. James said last week that he, Wade and Bosh owed it to one another to have a conversation before deciding where to play going forward. It is unclear if those discussions have taken place. And while James opting out was largely expected, the ripple effect of the move was seen all over the sports world. The NFL, on its Twitter account, posted a photo of James dunking a football over the crossbar at the stadium his beloved Dallas Cowboys call home, light-heartedly asking him if he wanted to pass some time in a training camp while making his decision. And U.S. Soccer, also in a tweet, said it has a new team for him -- then attached a photo of mens national team jersey bearing James name and No. 6. Even hockey got into the act. "You know, youd be 6-10 on skates," someone posted to the Carolina Hurricanes Twitter account, in a message to James. For now, all that seems certain is James sticking to basketball. What team, thats now up for debate. Hes been with the Heat four seasons, been to the NBA Finals in each of those years, winning two championships and winning more games than any other team over that span. He seems to have largely recovered from the hit his image took when he left Cleveland for Miami in 2010, often saying hes much happier now as a person than he was then. Plus, his life has changed. He married longtime girlfriend Savannah Brinson last year, and the couple is expecting their third child. "Players have a right to free agency and when they have these opportunities, the right to explore their options," Riley said. "The last four seasons have been historic and LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and Erik Spoelstra have led the Miami Heat to one of the most unprecedented runs in the history of the NBA." The suspension is accompanied by mandatory referral to the NHL/NHLPA Program for Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health for evaluation and possible treatment, per an NHL release. Ashton will forfeit $169,185 during the suspension. The 23-year-old Ashton released a statement regarding the suspension, claiming he suffered an asthmatic spasm in late August during summer training and was given an inhaler by another player. Ashton kept the inhaler and used it a second time early in training camp after another asthma attack. Unfortunately, I incorrectly assumed that there were no problems associated with the use of this inhaler and I used it without checking to see whether its contents were permissible under the NHL/NHLPA Performance Enhancing Substances Program, Ashton said in his statement. I now recognize that I ingested Clenbuterol, a prohibited substance, through the inhaler. However, at no time was I seeking to gain an athletic advantage or to knowingly violate the terms of the program. I used the inhaler in response to exerrcise-induced asthma, a condition that my doctor with the Toronto Maple Leafs has since diagnosed and he has prescribed me with an inhaler. Cheap Adidas Superstar Shoes. . Ashton has been held pointless in three games with the Maple Leafs this season, spending the majority of the season to-date in the Leafs press box. As a professional hockey player, I recognize that I am responsible for what I put into my body, and I will not appeal my suspension. While I am extremely disappointed that I have let my teammates, our fans and the Maple Leafs organization down, I will work very hard during my suspension to stay in game shape so that I can help out the team when I am able to return.” Team President Brendan Shanahan released a statement Thursday, backing the Leagues decision. He added that no further comments would be made out of respect for Ashton and the process involved. Acquired from the Tampa Bay Lightning at the 2012 NHL trade deadline, Ashton has spent parts of the past three seasons with the Maple Leafs, registering three assists in 50 games. He was originally selected in the first round (29th overall) by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. ' ' '

Santa Clara, CA (SportsNetwork. Cheap Yeezys Real .com) - Jim Harbaugh is out as head coach of the San Francisco 49ers after four seasons. That much is certain. The only question remaining is where he goes next, with all signs pointing to a return to college football. The 49ers and Harbaugh officially parted ways after Sundays 20-17 win over Arizona, a move weeks in the making that the team called mutual. The 49ers announced they have already begun a search for a new head coach and that Harbaugh is free to pursue other opportunities, which may include a return to his alma mater. Multiple reports over the weekend indicated Harbaugh will be introduced on Tuesday as the new head coach at the University of Michigan, where he is expected to accept a reported six-year, $48 million offer to coach the Wolverines, who fired head coach Brady Hoke on Dec. 2 after four seasons. The 49ers said CEO Jed York and general manager Trent Baalke will hold a press conference on Monday to address the teams coaching situation. Jim and I have come to the conclusion that it is in our mutual best interest to move in different directions, York said in a statement. We thank Jim for bringing a tremendous competitive nature and a great passion for the game to the 49ers. He and his staff restored a winning culture that has been the standard for our franchise throughout its history. Their commitment and hard work resulted in a period of success that should be looked back on proudly by our organization and our fans. We wish Jim and his family all the best. Harbaugh, 51, led the 49ers to a 44-19-1 record in four seasons with three consecutive appearances in the NFC Championship game and one trip to the Super Bowl. Its been the time of my life. Theres been a lot of memories, great moments, Harbaugh said after the game. I feel like Im going to be friends for life with anybody who wants to be. I truly love this team. With one year left on his contract, he guided the Niners to an 8-8 record this season amid swirling rumors over his job security. Harbaugh coached at Stanford for four seasons before taking the 49ers job and at San Diego for three years before that. He led Stanford to an Orange Bowl win over Virginia Tech in his final season at Stanford. For the last four seasons I have had the great privilege to coach one of the storied franchises in the history of football, Harbaugh said in a statement. I will miss competing alongside this group of players and coaches, I have the utmost respect and admiration for their hard work and support. It has been my honor to share the sideline with these mighty men. I will always appreciate and remember fondly, the passion and support of our faithful fans, and want to express my particular thanks to them. Harbaugh played 177 games as a quarterback in the NFL, beginning his 15-year career with the Chicago Bears and also spending time with the Colts, Ravens, Chargers and Panthers. Before that, he was a standout QB at Michigan under legendary coach Bo Schembechler. He played for the Wolverines from 1983-86. James Erskine said Tuesday that Thorpe was "quite sick" in a Sydney hospital but dismissed media reports the swimmer might lose the use of his left arm. "Hes not in the intensive care," Erskine said.LONDON -- Jose Mourinho is perhaps the only manager who can complete a season at Chelsea without a trophy and not face any calls for his sacking or a fans revolt. What a difference to the way Rafa Benitez was treated -- and the many managers before him. The Spaniard led Chelsea to the Europa League title last year -- a competition sneered at in England but still a leading honour -- and yet jeering supporters were still counting down the days until Mourinho would return to replace him. Yet it is Benitez, not his nemesis, ending this campaign with a trophy, having won the Italian Cup at Napoli. It seems that little, though, can diminish Chelseas infatuation with Mourinho, however dull the football has been at times this season, however antagonistic he has been toward referees, however much he has scolded his players in public. Mourinho knows he can get away with it, for now, without facing backlash from owner Roman Abramovich and the fans who spent so long calling for the return of the self-styled "Special One," who won all three domestic trophies at least once during his 2004-07 reign. Despite an acrimonious exit from Real Madrid after finishing last season without silverware, Mourinho points out how he rebuffed other employment opportunities to rekindle the Chelsea love affair. "I had lots of chances to have easy fairytales, I decided not to have it," Mourinho said after Chelseas realistic hopes of winning the Premier League ended on Sunday. "If I want to win leagues easily, I would choose another league. I would choose another club with another moment that in this moment Chelsea does not have. ... I chose with my heart every aspect the club I want, the club I love, a competition I like very much to play, a city where I like very much to live." Mourinhos missive: Be grateful I returned. Having exhausted so much energy during Mourinhos absence pleading "We want our Chelsea back," the fans can hardly complain that there will be no parade down Kings Road this year. Abramovich, who acceded to the crowds demands, has put away his axe after going through seven managers in the six years between Mourinhos reigns, and is giving the Portuguese the time to forge a new squad without instant silverware. "Chelsea had a fantastic decade but that team, step by step, is disappearing," Mourinho told the BBC. "I came in a moment when there is a transitional moment of the big players of the last decade. Some are not here (anymore) and some are at a certain age, and the younger players are at the beginning of a process." Captain John Terry, left back Ashley Cole, and midfielder Frank Lampard, whose contracts are expiring, were deeply emotional as the stalwarts left the pitch affter Sundays final home game of the season, a drab 0-0 draw with Norwich. Cheap Yeezy Shoes For Sale. Chelsea would need Manchester City and Liverpool to lose their two remaining games while winning its own season-ender at Cardiff to win the title. Theres little chance of that happening, so the focus is on the summer transfer window when Mourinho has to bring in a goal-scorer -- Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa is the top target -- to ensure Chelsea doesnt endure another campaign of malaise up front. Samuel Etoo has 14 goals, Fernando Torres 10, and Demba Ba eight. Thats just 32 goals between them. Luis Suarez has netted 30 alone for Liverpool despite missing the start of the season while completing a biting ban and not having European matches to augment his tally. "We dont have the kind of striker able to, in a short space, to make an action, to score a goal, to open the gate," Mourinho said in his latest public criticism of his players. Mourinho demands an attacking player with a "killer instinct". The caveat -- "respecting obviously that we have good strikers" -- seems half-hearted, but he has to extract good money for them to fund the squad rebuilding while working within UEFAs Financial Fair Play rules. Mourinho could test the limits of his bond with fans if he offloads winger Eden Hazard, who was crowned the leagues young player of the year but then rebuked for his performance in last weeks Champions League elimination against Atletico Madrid. In January, though, he sold Juan Mata, the clubs player of the year for the previous two seasons, to Manchester United, jettisoning a creative force from the squad. Have they missed Mata? Chelseas problem hasnt been beating title rivals, completing the double over Liverpool, crushing Arsenal 6-0 at home and drawing away, and winning at Manchester City. What has proved so costly is dropping points while unable to break down weaker teams. The stalemate against relegation-threatened Norwich followed draws in 2014 against West Ham and West Bromwich Albion. Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Sunderland have also managed to beat the 2005, 2006 and 2010 league champions. "We had some limitations in terms of scoring enough goals to win all these kinds of matches against the teams with a more defensive approach," Mourinho acknowledged. "We know that we need a different kind of quality." It was said without a hint of irony, given the ultra-defensive tactics Mourinho employed in an attempt to exploit rivals on the counterattack. Next year, Mourinho will be expected to deliver more expansive football to thrill the crowds -- and a trophy. If he doesnt, perhaps even Chelsea fans will run out of patience with the "Special One." Welsh hopes of landing an unprecedented third straight championship outright were ended thanks to first-half tries by Danny Care and Luther Burrell and seven successful kicks - five penalties and two conversions from flyhalf Owen Farrell. England banished the painful memories of a 30-3 loss to Wales in last seasons Six Nations title decider by dominating almost every facet of a game played at a searing pace. The visitors scrum was demolished, their tackling and handling was sloppy and they only stayed in contention because of fullback Leigh Halfpennys own blemish-free record of six penalties. "Weve tried to remove the fear of playing, and when youve got the courage of your convictions, it generally pays off," England coach Stuart Lancaster said. "Its nice to put last years result in Cardiff to bed. We lost fair and square on that day, but today was our day." England joined France and Ireland on six points from four matches, setting up a thrilling last round of matches. Owning a far superior points difference of +81, Ireland will win the title - and seal a perfect international sendoff for retiring centre Brian ODriscoll with a victory over the French in Paris in the last of the three games. England simply has to beat Italy in Rome, which should be a given on this performance, and hope Ireland lose. If that happens, Lancasters side should lift the trophy for only the second time since winning the World Cup in 2003. The English just keep raising the bar under Lancaster, who has changed the teams mentality and approach in his two years in charge. He claimed that the toughed-out 13-10 win over Ireland two weeks ago was the highlight of a reign that includes a record victory over New Zealand, but this success will take some beating. It clinched the Triple Crown - a sweep of wins over the home unions for the first time since 2003 and was the perfect answer to a midweek taunt from Wales coach Warren Gatland - who challenged whether the English had turned frrom boys to men in the last 12 months. Nike Roshe Clearance. This Wales side contained 12 players that featured in the British Lions series-clinching win in the third test against Australia last July. Wales had more than double the amount of caps as England here. "We didnt keep the ball well enough today, there were too many turnovers and we were hammered at the scrum very disappointing," Gatland said. A bad day for the Welsh became even worse with the news that Halfpenny will miss the rest of this season after dislocating his right shoulder toward the end of the match. On a red-hot day in southwest London, England brought a scorching intensity that the Welsh couldnt live with. At scrumhalf, Care was the conductor-in-chief and from one of his trademark quick taps, England went in front after just five minutes. Care noticed Wales defenders had turned their backs after referee Romain Poite awarded a penalty following a long advantage, and Care darted past Poite and into a gap to dive over the line. It was Englands first try against Wales in 282 minutes. Wales often had no answer to its opponents line breaks and hard running, but with the adrenalin flowing England gave away some soft penalties at the fiercely contested breakdown that Halfpenny punished in the ninth, 23rd and 31st minutes. Two of those came from near halfway. With Farrell booting two penalties of his own, England held a 13-9 lead just after the half hour but that lead turned to 11 points when Wales over-threw a lineout and the ball was recycled out to the English left wing, where Jonny May cut inside. Play was set up for Billy Twelvetrees to slither a grubber kick into the left corner where Burrell collected on the dive for a try, converted from out wide. England was much the better side yet two more well-struck penalties by Halfpenny in the final three minutes saw Wales somehow jog back to the dressing rooms just five points behind. However, Welsh errors - both handling and tactical, continued after halftime and Farrell was unforgiving from the kicking tee. England was never in danger of blowing its lead. "We grew a lot as a team over the last year," England lock Courtney Lawes said, "and a performance like that has been a long time coming." ' ' '

But you could expect that. I was coming into the match knowing that I will have very, very few chances. But I was hoping that these conditions and the wind will kind of give me some second-serve opportunities.Despite the swirling wind, Karlovics serve was stellar again, a 73 per cent first-serve percentage. In the third set, in which he served two aces and two service winners in the final game, Karlovic was even better on first serve, at 85 per cent.Djokovics irritation at his inability to break Karlovic, boosted the lanky Croat.I looked at him when he threw the racket and when he smashed the ball, so I knew that he was a little bit frustrated, Karlovic said. Wichita, KS (SportsNetwork. Discount Nike Shoes Website .com) - The 11th-ranked Wichita State Shockers face a stern test on Tuesday night, as they entertain the Alabama Crimson Tide at Koch Arena. Alabama is sporting a 6-2 record, and the team has won three of its last four games. A 65-53 triumph over visiting Tennessee Tech on Saturday was the most recent, and a win in this contest would even the Tides road record at 1-1 after it dropped a 97-84 decision at Xavier in its only other true away game back on Dec. 6. Wichita State took its stellar 6-1 record into Saturdays clash at Detroit, and while it wasnt pretty, the Shockers put another tally in the win column by claiming a 77-68 triumph. That victory evened the teams road record at 1-1, and it was its third straight win overall. WSUs lone setback of the campaign happened at Utah on Dec. 3 (69-68 OT). This is the second straight season in which these two teams have met, and Wichita State won last years matchup in Tuscaloosa, 72-67, to knot the all- time series at 3-3. Alabama got off to a slow start in its recent bout with Tennessee Tech, leading 37-36 at the break. The Golden Eagles scored only 17 points in the second half, as they were held to a season-low 53 total points. Rodney Cooper used an 11-of-14 effort at the free-throw line to tally a game-high 23 points, while Levi Randolph was the only other UA player to hit for double figures as he chipped in 10 points to go with five assists. As a team, the Crimson Tide shot 6-of-14 from 3-point range and committed only nine turnovers, while Tech shot just 34.6 percent from the field overall and was more than doubled up in points from the charity stripe, 25-12. Despite his lackluster showing in the last game, Randolph continues to pace the team in scoring with his 17.8 ppg, and he ranks second on the team in rebounding with 5.1 rpg. He is first in assists with 24, and steals with 14. Other solid contributors include Cooper (13.4 ppg, 3.8 rpg), Ricky Tarrant (13.4 ppg) and Shannon Hale (9.4 ppg, 3.6 rpg) for a team that is generating 78 ppg and allowing 71.4 ppg, while coming up even in the rebounding battle (+0.1) and slightly ahead in turnovers (+2.4). Wichita State shot only 41.3 percent from the floor, yet still posted a double-digit win at Detroit over the weekend. The Shockers nailed nine treys, missing 19 more, and got a double-double performance from Darius Carter as he finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Ron Baker was high man with 19 points and he grabbed seven boards, while Fred VanVleet and Tekele Cotton chipped in with 11 points apiece. WSU wound up on the plus side of the ledger in rebounding (42-35), committed 10 turnovers to 13 for the Titans, and outscored its hosts at the foul line, 16-7. Baker is averaging 18.5 ppg as the team leader in scoring, but he gets help from three other starters, as the Shockers light up the scoreboard for 78.1 ppg in hitting 46.6 percent of their field goal attempts, which includes a 37.6 percent showing from long range. Defensively, Wichita State is putting the clamps on in allowing only 59.9 ppg, with foes converting only 41.3 percent of their total shots. Furthermore, the Shockers owns significant advantages in both rebounds (+9.4) and turnovers (+5.0). Cheap Wholesale Nike Shoes Online . On Wednesday night, they showed that stellar defence and a little small ball can get the job done too. With pinch-runner Kevin Pillar aboard after Dioner Navarro opened the bottom of the ninth with a single, Anthony Gose dropped down an excellent bunt along the first-base line. The visitors missed a host of good chances to win the game, and were left to rue substitute Ivo Ilicevics strike against the crossbar in the 86th minute, when he only had the goalkeeper to beat.LIVERPOOL, England -- Manchester City hurdled its last big obstacle en route to the English Premier League title by winning 3-2 at Everton, while heavy defeats condemned Fulham and Cardiff to relegation on Saturday. Two home wins, against Aston Villa on Wednesday and West Ham on Sunday, separate City from a second championship in three years after coming from behind to win at Goodison Park -- a stadium where it has traditionally struggled with just one victory from its last 15 visits. Sergio Agueros goal cancelled out Ross Barkleys brilliant 11th-minute opener for Everton, then Edin Dzeko scored twice in a five-minute span bridging halftime to help City go top -- for a day at least -- on goal difference from Liverpool, and two points clear of Chelsea. All three teams have two games left, with Chelsea playing Norwich on Sunday and Liverpool at Crystal Palace on Monday. "Three points is a huge step for us," City manager Manuel Pellegrini said. "Its a decisive moment, but we havent finished yet." Aguero gave City a scare by limping off in the 28th minute -- soon after scoring his equalizer -- but said on Twitter that he came off as a precaution and he was "fine." Evertons defeat dealt a major blow to the title hopes of neighbour Liverpool, and ensured Arsenal clinched fourth spot and Champions League qualification for the 17th straight season. Resurgent Sunderlands surprise 1-0 win at Manchester United pulled the team three points clear of third-from-bottom Norwich, gave interim United manager Ryan Giggs a reality check, and also consigned Fulham and Cardiff to the second tier. Fulham lost 4-1 at Stoke, and Cardiff was defeated 3-0 at Newcastle, leaving both sides unable to climb out of the relegation zone. "I have to apologize for not managing the situation. The club asked me to come -- I tried," said Fulham manager Felix Magath, who was hired in February in an attempt to keep the club in the top division for a 14th straight season. "You can never say any player would like to see relegation, but they didnt fight enough, especiially today. Cheap Nike Shoes Online Free Shipping. " Cardiff goes down after spending just one year in the Premier League, having also changed managers midway through the season in a bid to prevent the drop. "I knew what I was coming into," Cardiff manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said. "I didnt make the impact I hoped for and I believed in." Sunderland has taken seven points from trips to Man City, Chelsea and United in the past three weeks, with Sebastian Larssons 30th-minute goal clinching a first league victory at Old Trafford since 1968. United turned in a performance reminiscent of David Moyes woeful 10-month tenure that was brought to an end last month, puncturing the optimism created by the teams 4-0 win over Norwich last Saturday in Giggs first match in interim control. "I feel flat," Giggs said. "The players were flat and I dont know why. . We were putting five- or 10-yard passes astray and if you do that in the Premier League you get punished. Weve had a problem at home all season -- its not been good enough." Already out of contention to qualify for the Champions League, United is also struggling to make the Europa League as it is six points behind sixth-place Tottenham, which lost 2-0 at West Ham. Spurs went down to 10 men in the 25th minute when Younes Kaboul was given a straight red card for a professional foul, before an own goal by Harry Kane and Stewart Downings free kick secured a victory that preserved West Hams Premier League status for another season. Aston Villa moved six points clear of Norwich after beating Hull 3-1 thanks to Ashley Westwoods goal after 58 seconds and a pair of headers from Andreas Weimann just before halftime. Hull, a point behind Villa, was also unlikely to be hauled in by Norwich but its three-game winless run bodes ill for the FA Cup final against Arsenal on May 17. Regardless of that result, however, Hull will get the Europa League spot offered by the FA Cup courtesy of Arsenal securing fourth place in the league. Southampton beat Swansea 1-0 away thanks to Rickie Lamberts injury-time goal. ' ' '

ASHBURN, Va. Wholesale Shoes Australia . - Of course Matthew McConaughey would want to hang with Robert Griffin III after a Washington Redskins practice. The Oscar-winning actor, a huge Washington fan who was in town to appear at a team charity event, wore an old-style Redskins yellow T-shirt and walked buddy-buddy with the franchise player as they strolled away from the field following Wednesdays off-season workout. Griffin was asked if he noticed McConaughey on the sidelines during practice. "I think if I was a woman, I would notice it a lot more," Griffin quipped. Still, RG3 was the player who drew the biggest scrum of reporters, and he remains the linchpin of the teams championship hopes. But this off-season is bit more tranquil for the 24-year-old quarterback with the disarming smile. Its not two years ago, when he was the shiny new centre of attention, the No. 2 overall pick with unlimited potential. And its certainly not last year, when he heaped attention on himself with his "All in for Week 1" campaign while recovering from a serious knee injury amid growing discord with coach Mike Shanahan. The RG3 of 2014 still loves his slogans — "The Movement" and "Win everything, win every day" are his current chart-toppers — but the knee brace is gone, and so is Shanahan. All is calm under new coach Jay Gruden, and, at least for the moment, Redskins stock doesnt soar nor crash every time Griffin opens his mouth. "Weve got a new coach, and weve got new additions, whether its DeSean Jackson, Ryan Clark, (Jason) Hatcher, all those guys that are here doing great things," Griffin said. "And the story lines dont all lead back to me. And thats fine." Its a firm reset for Griffin after a 3-13 year that included a late-season shutdown, but hes still the same image-conscious perfectionist. Hes learning a new offence, and his fundamentals are getting some tweaks under the new coach. Overall, however, Grudens take on Griffin sounds somewhat similar to Shanahans. "Hes mature beyond his years already," Gruden said. "Hes obviously got a lot more maturing to do, but as far as his work ethic is concerned, about how he handles himself on and off the field, I dont think thats going to be that big of an issue. Its just a matter of how you handle the media scrutiny sometimes. "Like I said, hes a perfectionist. He doesnt like negative publicity. He doesnt like negative plays to happen. He wants everything to be right. He wants everybody to love Robert, and thats not going to be the case at the back position." True to form, Griffin tried to set the record straight about his views on off-season work. A year ago, he was confident he could make a strong return from the knee injury despite missing off-season practices. He now wants all to know that he didnt mean to devalue the importance the April-June workouts. "When you have a hand dealt to you where you dont have an off-season, you dont use it as an excuse," Griffin said. "And that was the message that was trying to be sent last year. I didnt have the opportunity to have that off-season. I was getting healthy, getting ready for the season. You dont whine about it; you dont cry about it, and I think maybe it was taken the wrong way and people thought I didnt need it. You always need it." For the most part, though, Griffin has avoided talking about last year — because it would be tricky to do so without dissing Shanahan. No sense rocking the boat while everything is good. "Everybody wants me to compare this year to last year," Griffin said. "We havent played any games yet, and even when we do play the games, Im still not going to compare them. That question will not be answered." NOTES: WR Jackson remains sidelined with a hamstring injury. Gruden called it a "minor tweak" and said he hopes Jackson is back next week. ... Gruden for the first time experienced the sauna-like conditions of the Redskins garage-style news conference room. "You guys cant afford an air conditioner in here?" the coach said. "You guys quit writing bad stuff about us and maybe well get an AC in here and move you out of the garage." The remark earned a rare ovation from reporters, and Gruden was brought a green towel to help wipe away his sweat. ___ AP NFL websites: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP_NFL ___ Follow Joseph White on Twitter: http://twitter.com/JGWhiteAP Womens Shoes Australia . "Last year didnt go the way we wanted it to, but we need to look at what went well and what didnt go so well. Hopefully this year we will be better," Brendan Gallagher said after practice. This year, the Canadiens have a little more depth to work with by adding players like Daniel Briere, Dale Weise, Mike Weaver, Douglas Murray and arguably, the biggest addition to this playoff roster, Thomas Vanek, who the Canadiens were able to land at the trade deadline. It was the first win for Miami in five meetings with Brooklyn this season. "Its one," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "But I liked the energy, the activity." Chris Bosh scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, Dwyane Wade finished with 14 points and Mario Chalmers had 12 for Miami, which recorded at least one regular-season win against every team except Brooklyn, losing four times by a total of 12 points. This one was a different story. A 24-9 run in the third quarter blew things open for the Heat, who hadnt played in eight days after sweeping Charlotte in the opening round. "It was great that we were able to come out the way we did after being off eight days," James said. "We got a lot of work in. We had eight days off of not playing a basketball game but Spo got us in the gym. (We) got each other in the gym. We made each other accountable throughout the layoff and it proved tonight." Deron Williams and Joe Johnson scored 17 points each for the Nets, who got only eight from Paul Pierce and no points from Kevin Garnett in 16 minutes. Game 2 of the best-of-seven series is Thursday night. "This is the defending champs," Nets coach Jason Kidd said. "Its always going to be at a high level and weve got to find a way to match it." James finished 10 for 15 from the field and Allen -- who had never faced his former Boston "Big 3" compatriots Pierce and Garnett in the playoffs -- was 4 of 7 from 3-point land. "He was focused on the job at hand," James said. Miamis lead was 55-52 early in the third quarter after a 3-pointer by Williams, and every indication was that the Heat and Nets -- who played three one-point games and a double-overtime affair in the regular season -- were heading down to the wire again. Not quite. The Heat took off on the 24-9 run over a 7-minute span, with Bosh scoring the first seven points of that burst to get Miami going. Allens 3-pointer pushed the lead to 14, James and Chris Andersen (who left in the fourth with a riight knee contusion) added two free throws apiece and just like that Miamis lead was up to 79-61. Cheap Shoes Australia Free Shipping. "Its fun when you win the game and you can at least for a night do whatever it is you do, have some dinner, chill at home and exhale a little bit," Bosh said. "When you lose, you cant sleep, your stomach hurts and its not a very good situation." For Brooklyn, the trouble came at an unexpected time. The Nets had the best third-quarter scoring differential in the East after Jan. 1, but were outscored 33-23 in that pivotal quarter in Game 1. It was a hectic news day long before Heat-Nets, with Oklahoma Citys Kevin Durant being announced as the leagues MVP, the firing of Golden State coach Mark Jackson and the NBA saying that Los Angeles Clippers president Andy Roeser would be taking an indefinite leave as part of the fallout related to the Donald Sterling scandal. James two-year reign as MVP lasted 198 games. "We have a new MVP, but when you talk about the best players in the world, hes 1A, 1B with Durant," Kidd said. Pregame lineup moves by both clubs lent more intrigue. Miami brought Shane Battier -- who played 2 minutes, total, in the first round against Charlotte -- back into the starting five, while Brooklyn reinserted Shaun Livingston into its lineup after using him off the bench late in the Toronto series. After never leading by more than seven points against Brooklyn in the regular season, the Heat led by 11 after a drive by James with 3:32 left in the first half. But the Nets closed on a 14-6 run, and Williams first beat-the-clock 3-pointer of the game sent Brooklyn into halftime down 46-43. Williams did it again in the third, but that one only got Brooklyn within 79-66. "It came down to defence tonight," Williams said. "Our defensive game plan was not executed at all." NOTES: The Heat held a pregame moment of silence for Hall of Famer Jack Ramsay, who died last week at the age of 89. ... David Beckham, who will be bringing an MLS team to Miami, sat next to the Heat bench. ... Livingston was on the court to warm up for the second half with about 10 minutes left in the intermission. Small problem: The rack of basketballs wasnt on the court yet. ... The Nets are 1-9 all-time against Miami in playoff games. ... Miami had not won consecutive Game 1s since the 2nd and 3rd rounds of the 2012 playoffs. ' ' '

Green Bay, WI (SportsNetwork. Cheap Jerseys Paypal .com) - Aaron Rodgers fired three touchdown passes and Green Bay survived a shootout with Atlanta, as the Packers took a 43-37 victory on Monday. Rodgers went 24-for-36 for 327 yards, with Jordy Nelson catching eight passes for 146 yards and two scores for the Packers (10-3), who have ripped off five straight victories. It was the 100th start in Rodgers career and he has a 68-32 mark in that time, same as former Packer Brett Favre. Eddie Lacy posted one touchdown rushing and one receiving, while totaling 106 yards and James Starks also had a rushing touchdown and 101 total yards for Green Bay, which remained one game ahead of Detroit for first place in the NFC North. Julio Jones had a career night for Atlanta, catching 11 balls for 259 yards and a touchdown. He was off the field for Atlantas last scoring drive, though, with a hip injury. Matt Ryan finished the game with four touchdown passes and an interception on 24-of-39 attempts for 375 yards for the Falcons (5-8), who still sit atop the NFC South thanks to New Orleans loss to Carolina on Sunday. This week they discuss the Philadelphia 76ers, Gregg Popovich, Royal and Ancient Golf Club and Bill Belichick. Bruce Arthur, National Post My thumb is up to the Philadelphia 76ers, proud possessors of a win streak for the first time since two weeks before the Olympics began. Any task worth doing is worth doing with commitment, and while you can argue whether tanking to get a good draft pick should be worth doing, thats the system, and the Sixers have been crafting a masterpiece. Before Saturday night they had lost 26 in a row, 29 of 30, and 36 of 39, and 27 straight losses would have a set a new record for consecutive defeats. But Saturday in Philly, the Sixers pulled one out, blowing out the hapless Detroit Pistons by 25 and getting a standing ovation. It was a raft in an ocean, a blip in the sky. But now, no matter what, they can say this: it could have been worse. Steve Simmons, Sun Media My thumb is up to Gregg Popovich, who just might be the greatest coach in the history of professional sport. And I dont say that lightly with terrific respect for the work done by Scotty Bowman and Phil Jackson and Bill Belichick, and yeah, certainly Vince Lombardi. Put your championships aside for a moment - this is the 15th straight season in which Popovichs San Antonio Spurs have won between 50 and 63 games in the NBA. To put that into perspective, thats the same number of 50-win seasons combined over that time that the Knicks, Celtics, Bulls, Warriors, Nets, Wizards, Pacers, 76ers, Bobcats, Hawks, and Raptors have won. Having Tim Duncan helps. But Duncan at 37 is slowingg down. Wholesale NFL Jerseys Authentic. Heading to another 60 win season, Gregg Popovich doesnt seem to be. Michael Farber, Sports Illustrated My thumb is up to the R&A, for finally entering a new century. The 20th. The Royal and Ancient is urging its membership to allow women to become members of the venerable St. Andrews golf club in Scotland when it votes in September. This is a mere 260 years after the home of golf was founded, which qualifies as progress. Two other courses in the Open Championship rotation, Muirfield and Royal St. Georges, have yet to tiptoe down this perilous path to equality. By comparison, the nice gentlemen at Augusta National, which started accepting female members in 2012 - hello, Condoleeza Rice! - look like wild-eyed progressives. Dave Hodge, TSN My thumb is up to New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick, for making me seem less crazy than others think I am. I have been saying for years that the complexities of video review are confusing and unnecessary, and that a better system would be a very simple system that allows anything to be challenged. And no less an authority than Belichick is leading a push in this direction in the NFL. Never mind "this can be challenged under certain circumstances, but not that under any circumstances"--as Belichick says, "if a coach thinks his team has been victimized by a bad call, he should be able to question it, and its up to him to use the limited number of challenge flags with that in mind."  As I say, "challenges might actually be fewer--same with wrong calls--and replay rules would be simpler. You can challenge those assumptions, but Bill Belichick wont. ' ' '

(SportsNetwork. Air Jordan Retro 4 Discount .com) - Its footballs equivalent to Bird versus Magic or perhaps Ali and Frazier. Catch the action live, beginning with Football Night in America on TSN2 at 7pm et/4pm pt. For the 14th time in their storied careers, future Hall of Fame quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Tom Brady will face off against each other when the Denver Broncos visit the New England Patriots on "Sunday Night Football." Brady has generally had the edge historically, going 9-4 against Mannings Colts and now Broncos but Peyton has posted a 4-3 record in his last seven head-to-head matchups after dropping the first six meetings. Each has enjoyed almost stunning efficiency throughout their respective careers. In fact this contest will mark the first in NFL history in which both signal callers are at least 90 games over .500 as starters. Brady has the best winning percentage in the modern era and is at plus-101 for his career (143-42) while Manning is third overall in winning percentage and plus-92 (163-71). "Its always a great matchup," said Broncos interim head coach Jack Del Rio when talking about the two QBs. "Youre talking about two of the premier quarterbacks in the league and its going to be shown in primetime and all that." Mannings Broncos have been playing at the higher level so far this season and Denver defeated Kansas City, 27-17, last week, handing the Chiefs their first loss of the season. With the win, the Broncos are now deadlocked with KC atop both the AFC West and the conference as a whole at 9-1. Manning threw a touchdown pass in that one, and rookie Montee Ball ran for two scores as Denver denied the Chiefs their first 10-0 start in franchise history. Manning, playing on a tender ankle, completed 24-of-40 passes for 323 yards and was not sacked once by a unit which entered the week leading the NFL in that category. "I thought they responded well against a very good front," said Del Rio about his offensive line. Knowshon Moreno added 79 yards on the ground for the Broncos, who became the first team to score more than 17 points against Kansas City this season en route to winning their ninth straight game against a division foe. New England, on the other hand, leads the AFC East by two games despite a controversial 24-20 loss at Carolina on Monday night. The game ended despite a flag being thrown in the end zone on the final play, indicating a possible pass interference/holding penalty on Carolinas Luke Kuechly, but officials picked it up, a move that infuriated Brady, who followed referee Clete Blakeman off the field as the TV broadcast picked up audio of the veteran using an expletive to complain. "I wish it wouldnt have come down to that," Brady said. "I mean I think there were plenty of plays we could have made, but it did and theyre going to make a call or theyre not going to make the call. We can play better than that." Down by four with just under a minute to go and all three timeouts in hand, the Pats marched to the Carolina 18, where, on the games final play, Brady threw a pass that rookie safety Robert Lester picked off in the end zone. Brady was looking for Rob Gronkowski but the All-Pro tight end was bear-hugged by Kuechly behind Lester. The official nearest the play threw a flag in the end zone, but Blakeman and the rest of the crew huddled and declared there was no foul. Brady completed 29-of-40 passes for 296 yards with one touchdown. Running back Shane Vereen, activated from short-term injured reserve prior to the game, had 65 yards on eight receptions for the Patriots, who are two games behind the Broncos and Chiefs for the AFC lead. "Its not really our job to call the game. Its to play it and coach it. Whatever calls they make are the ones that we live with," Belichick said. "We have to turn the page here quickly, get on to Denver. Good football team, playing well. Obviously, their record reflects that." The Broncos own a 25-18 all-time record against the Patriots in the regular season, including a 9-9 mark in road games. The banged-up New England defense faces its toughest test this week. The Broncos lead the NFL with 398 points scored -- the third-most ever by a team through the first 10 games of a season -- and Manning has passed for a league-best 3,572 yards and 34 touchdowns, a number on pace to top Bradys record season of 50 in 2007, which just happened to top Mannings 49 from three years prior to that. The success of the Broncos offense is directly tied to Mannings high-level of performance along with a stunning group of playmakers which includes ex- Patriots star Wes Welker along with outside the numbers threats Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker as well as dynamic tight end Julius Thomas. Welker, of course, was Bradys top target for six seasons in New England, amassing 672 receptions and 37 TDs over that span while reaching the 1,000- yard plateau in five of those years. He is, however, dealing with a concussion and could miss his return to Foxborough. Meanwhile, Julius Thomas, who already has 10 receiving TDs, matching Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe for the most by a tight end in franchise history, is also hampered by a balky knee. "(Welker is) a tough guy so hes played through everything," Brady said. "This is a big game for both teams so you have to expect their best players. Im sure all those guys will be ready to go." Welker hasnt slowed down much in the Rockies and has 61 receptions for 648 yards, one of five Broncos to have at least 37 catches so far in 2013. "Wes has a great work ethic and hes provided just good leadership to our offense," Manning said. He loves football. Hes a tough guy. He plays through injuries. And those are things that you appreciate about a football player." The middle of the Pats D has been decimated by injuries with defensive tackles Vince Wilfork and Tommy Kelly as well as middle linebacker Jerod Mayo and safety Adrian Wilson lost for the season. Meanwhile cornerback Alfonzo Dennard (knee) and safety Steve Gregory (thumb) missed last weeks game at Carolina and the teams top over corner, Aqib Talib, was forced to leave after aggravating a hip injury that caused him to miss the three prior games. Brady, who has thrown for 2,552 yards and 14 TDs, really hadnt been himself this season thanks in large part to the uncertainty at the skill positions but he has slowly been starting to hit his stride The fact that Gronkowski and slot receiver Danny Amendola are now healthy while rookie Aaron Dobson seems to getting it has to be a scary thought for most opposing defenses. "Its pretty well documented my respect for Tom as a quarterback," Manning said. "The way he prepares. The way hes better each season than the year before. Every time you play their football team, youre playing a well- coached, disciplined team." The Broncos suffered a significant hit on their defense when safety Rahim Moore was lost for a significant period after undergoing emergency surgery to stop bleeding in a left leg muscle. TORONTO - Following the final game in each of his first four NBA seasons, DeMar DeRozan has stood in front of the media contingent at the Raptors annual post-mortem gathering, vowing to work tirelessly on his game during the summer and return a more well-rounded player come the fall. Ryan McMahon Jersey . One of his most glaring weaknesses as a young guard in the league was his playmaking ability. As a 19-year-old rookie in 2009-10, DeRozan averaged less than one assist per game. Among NBA guards that logged at least 20 minutes per outing that season, DeRozan assisted on the lowest percentage of his teammates field goals (just under 5 per cent, tied with Orlandos Mickael Pietrus, per NBA.com/stats). Hes come a long way since then, making good on his yearly end-of-season promise. DeRozans four assists in Sundays win over the Magic raised his season total to 205, a new career-high, besting last years mark with 26 games left to play. "I want to make my teammates better," said the Raptors guard, who continues to evolve as a distributer, averaging a career-best 3.8 dimes this season. "It just comes with experience and understanding. Its something that I really enjoy doing, getting my teammates involved, looking for them." The 24-year-olds assist numbers have increased in each of his five seasons and his assist percentage this year (18.6) is more than three-times higher than it was in his rookie campaign (4.9). DeRozan had recorded five or more assists in just five of his first 222 games as an NBA player, his first three years in the league. Since then hes accomplished that feat 28 times in 136 contests, including 15 during his 2013-14 breakout season. "Thats huge," Dwane Casey said of his leading scorers improved court vision. "Now hes drawing so much attention from the other teams as far as double teaming, guys helping, theyre sinking in and hes making teams pay for it."  "Hes one of the best wings right now in the league as far as passing the ball out [of the double team] and hes doing a great job of it," Casey continued. "So thats a big step in his growth process. Its good to see and the more attention he gets the more hes going to have to rely on that part of his game." A first-time all-star this season, DeRozan has had to adjust to the defensive attention hes getting now that he finds himself on the top of the oppositions scouting report. Theres nowhere left to hide, not after the trade of top dog Rudy Gay, but DeRozan has embraced the responsibility. "The game definitely does slow down," he noted. "You understand every defence. Theres not too many defences I havent seen yet and just watching film and understanding how teams play key players, especially key scorers, once you understand that a lot of things come a lot easier." As a team, the Raptors are just 14-17 when DeRozan scores 20 or more points, however theyre 18-8 when he tallies at least four assists. Bryan Shaw Jersey . Stevenson scored the first three goals of the game in the first period for Regina (35-22-6), which has won eight of its last 10 games. Patrick DAmico added two for the Pats, Braden Christoffer had a single and Morgan Klimchuk chipped in a goal and four assists.
