Community Guidelines [12/27/16]
Dec 27th 2016, 4:25 AM
Normally this would be listed on our about page, but for easy editing and contribution from our entire staff team, we're putting it here.

Our guidelines  are divided into a couple sections for easier moderation and better clarity.
  • Core guidelines must be followed by everyone, including staff members, and usually have little to no slack for violations. Denoted by 3 asterisks (***).
  • Community guidelines are to keep the place from turning into Tumblr and to improve everyone's experience here. Denoted by 1 asterisk (*).
  • Minor guidelines are more of suggestions which are not often enforced by action. No denotation.

There is no concrete "break rule x, receive punishment y" because it would become really hard to keep track of. Instead, our staff members are encouraged to use their own judgement (enforced by staff guidelines) when doing their jobs. Also, we have a warning system in use which targets repeat offenders, resulting in a ban once you reach a threshold of warning points. Warning points eventually expire after their set dates, however, points issued by admins do not expire.

If you feel you've been wrongfully banned you can appeal your ban at bans@gaminghq.net, creating a new account is considered ban evading.

Your Account

Using a disposable email ***
If you don't know what this is, you're not who we're targeting with this rule anyway. This is strictly enforced because of how much it's abused. An option to switch from a blacklist to a whitelist (gmail, yahoo, microsoft, etc) is available should this become abused further.

Signing up to advertise ***
Personal blogs/websites, and personal accounts such as YouTube and Twitch are fine, you can advertise those all you want. But if you're here to advertise another community/forum, we won't put up with that.

Using a profile picture or cover photo with full nudity *
Because there's no way to tag these as NSFW, you should save that for the gallery.

Your Content

Spamming ***
This is something we won't go easy on you for. As said on a popular forum, it's a real community you're ruining. All accounts banned for spamming automatically relay their information to the SFS database. There's multiple types of spam, and all are equally punished: posting low quality content repeatedly, copy & pasting the same shit in every discussion, and less commonly posting unreadable characters.

Posting illegal material ***
This shouldn't require an explanation.

Posting low quality content or cringeworthy content *
This is somewhat similar to spamming, although it may or may not be intentional.

Posting porn or gore *
Including links to adult websites or images/videos of it. Posting links to gore or images/videos of gore.

Brigading and harassment *
Grouping up to form a virtual lynch mob to attack someone. There's a bold line between giving someone shit and harassing them, use judgement.

Security

Doxing, threatening to dox, or posting a dox ***

Threatening to DDOS our community or a member of our community ***

For right now that's all. As the community grows new guidelines will be added as needed.
